Large, Light Room in Colourful, Creative House

For rent from mid-November: a fabulous double room with an original fireplace, lots of natural light, a comfortable bed and antique Cuban furniture. We are a writer/designer and daughter (when home from uni) looking for a congenial housemate aged over thirty.

The period house is in a leafy street in Bellenden Village, very close to Peckham’s busy creative and cultural life: Peckham Levels, Frank’s rooftop bar, Peckham Plex, Bold Tendencies, lots of galleries and amazing local restaurants and markets.

We're in Zone 2, 10 mins London Bridge, 15 mins Victoria, 20 mins Clapham Junction, 25 mins Kings Cross, 30 mins Dalston Junction, lots of buses, you can get to just about anywhere in London fast.

We’re sociable, relaxed, into art & design, music, history ancient and modern, Caribbean culture, textiles, travel, and we love sharing. There are great neighbours up and down the street. We've got a cat, lots of books, and we speak English and Spanish. We both wfh and in libraries/colleges, happy for you to do so too.

There are all the usual amenities: washer-dryer, dishwasher etc. and wifi. A large kitchen opens into a flower-filled garden, and there's a cosy sitting room with an open fire for chilly winter nights.

Peckham Rye Park with its Japanese and Old English Gardens is 5 minutes away, there are numerous gyms and swimming pools nearby, as well as Peckham Library, Camberwell Art School, The South London Gallery and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. East Dulwich, Camberwell, Blackheath, Brockwell Park Lido, Greenwich and Dulwich Village are all within quick and easy reach.

We’re looking for a non-smoking mature housemate, a professional or postgrad student preferred, who's friendly, upbeat and a great sharer. The rent is £900 per month inclusive of all bills.
