Fabulous double room with original fireplace, lots of natural light, comfortable bed and antique Cuban furniture available from early October. We are a writer/designer and daughter (when home from uni) looking for a congenial housemate. The period house is in a leafy street in Bellenden Village, very close to Peckham’s busy creative and cultural life: Peckham Levels, Frank’s famous rooftop bar, Peckham Plex (the cheapest coolest cinema in London), Bold Tendencies arts movement, frequent performances by Peckham Symphony Orchestra, lots of galleries and amazing local restaurants and markets. Zone 2, 10 mins London Bridge, 15 mins Victoria, 20 mins Clapham Junction, lots of buses, overground, you can get to just about anywhere in London fast. We’re sociable, relaxed, into art, music, history ancient and modern, Caribbean culture, textiles, travel, and we love sharing. There are great neighbours up and down the street, we've got a slightly eccentric cat, lots of books, English and Spanish spoken (close links with Cuba). All the usual amenities: washer-dryer, dishwasher etc. and wifi. Large kitchen opens into flower-filled garden. Cosy sitting room with open fire for chilly winter nights. Peckham Rye Park, Japanese and Old English Gardens 5 minutes away, two gyms, swimming pool, Peckham Library, Camberwell Art School, South London Gallery, Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. East Dulwich, Camberwell, Blackheath, Brockwell Park Lido, Greenwich and Dulwich Village all within quick and easy reach. We’re looking for a non-smoking housemate, professional or postgrad student preferred, friendly, upbeat and a great sharer. Rent is £850 per month inclusive.
