Description
Well hello there,
First up, there are 2 rooms available, both at different times:
Room 1 (a. k. a. the super-deluxe suite): this is available from 1st September 2015. This room is HUGE and overlooks the park opposite. With a bathroom upstairs beside it it’s almost like a studio flat (minus the kitchen). This is the £725 room. **THIS ROOM IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE**
Room 2 (a. k. a the one with the wardrobe): this is available from 1st December 2015. This room is a generous double, has a fireplace (can’t use it but still pretty) and a massive mirrored wardrobe. This is the £650 room.
Current tenants:
Liam (me): I look after the house. I have a new cat, Otis. He doesn’t shit everywhere anymore so you’ll be coming in at a good time. I burst into song a lot, almost like a weird form of tourette's.
Ben: Ben has lots of nice tattoos and spends much of his free time working on his fixie bike, despite not riding it much farther than the train station, a 10 minute walk away. Ben likes to eat cereal for dinner and plays the guitar.
Eva: Eva also has lots of tattoos. Are they nicer than Ben’s? I’ll have to let you decide for yourself. Eva also has THE MOST AMAZING DOG, Hatchi. Hatchi, a boston terrier, has a big stupid face, farts often, and is an absolute sweetheart.
Lina: Lina is newest to the house. ‘Lithuanian Lina’ is from Lithuania. Things Lina likes: coffee, running, cooking delicious Lithuanian food (not enough, in my opinion) and cocktails.
There's also Rosie, current occupant of room 2: Rosie, or Rose, is in love. When love happens, moving in together becomes an option. That option has arrived for Rose, so although we'll miss her when she leaves, we are also very happy for her. Rose also has tattoos.
Some more practical things: Peckham Rye park is under 10 paces from the front gate, and has recently received grant money to make what was once a good park great. A huge Sainsbury's is a 5 minute drive away and 2 well stocked Tesco Metros are just a 5 minute walk away. The 343 and 484 buses pass the house, and the 78, 63, 12, 197 363, 37, 185 and 176 buses all within a 5 minute walk. Peckham Rye station is a 10 minute walk (or you can get the 343 if you’re feeling lazy/flossin’), which takes you to London Bridge, Blackfriars and Victoria in 10 minutes. The overground line (the orange one) is also now available from Peckham Rye, making places like Clapham and Shoreditch only a few stops away.
I grew up in Peckham and let me tell you, it’s changed A LOT. It’s actually nice now (JK I love you old Peckham). Within walking distance there's Frank's rooftop bar, Bar Story, Bussey building, JFK's pool hall/nightclub, The Gowlett, The Victoria Inn, No. 67, Pedler, Ganapati, The Palmerston, Franklins, and a whole bunch of other places. There seems to be a new bar/restaurant/cafe/club popping up each week these days.
The room rates are inclusive of bills, including gas, electricity, water, council tax, broadband, and T. V. licence. It is not a party household, but friendly and convivial, and we’d like people who are respectful of others, and tidy. Saying that, we do have the odd party (we’re not squares man). Over 25s please and no couples.
Rooms will be snapped up quickly so be sure to book a viewing sharpish. Look forward to meeting you!
Thanks, Liam
