Description
My front door is in N1, the back garden gate opens onto EC1, and the house opposite is in WC1 - this Georgian townhouse maisonette sits right where three of London's most central postcodes meet, in the quiet New River Conservation Area.
It's under 10 minutes' walk to both King's Cross and Angel, with plenty of bus routes at the end of the road. The street itself is peaceful and residential, but Exmouth Market and Upper Street are a short stroll away when you fancy a coffee, dinner or some of the best shopping in the UK.
This is very much my home rather than a rental property, and I've spent years making it somewhere I genuinely love being. It keeps its original Georgian features but has been renovated to let in as much light as possible - the rooms stay bright all day.
Downstairs: two separate lounges, a kitchen/dining room opening onto a south-facing private terrace and garden, and a cloakroom.
Upstairs: two double bedrooms and a family bathroom with separate bath and shower.
The room: a furnished double, available weekdays only (Monday–Friday). It doubles as my spare room at weekends, when I often have friends and family coming to stay - hence the weekday arrangement - though I'm open to the occasional weekend stay with a bit of notice. Bedlinen and towels provided, plus a cleaner every other week.
It would suit someone who wants a comfortable, calm and homely base in central London during the working week, without committing to a full-time let.
A bit about me: I'm Julian - I run my own creative business and work from home most of the time, so the house doubles as my office. I've lived here for 14 years and still love it. I'm very into fitness and work out every single day, but not in an annoying weigh-my-food kind of way. I'm easygoing around the house, and the overall vibe here is warm, friendly and chilled out.
