Description

The flat is in Churchill Gardens which was designed by two famous architects in the 1950s - called Powell and Moya. It was the first luxury public housing scheme. It is now about 60-70% privately owned. The design is based on Bauhaus style. If you don’t like modern architecture then this is not for you. The flats face the east on one side and south west on the other so the light is amazing. Incredible views over London and the Thames. I have lived here for 20 years and it is the best place I have ever lived in London. The estate is cleaned every day, the gardens are maintained beautifully It is Westminster Council so they have a lot of money! It is a very safe area. The neighbours are lovely. The flat is on the 8th floor of a 10 floor block. The kitchen is quirky as I have the original 50s kitchen with a 70s sink! There is a microwave, electric cooker, washing machine, fridge freezer and a larder. There is no dishwasher. The bathroom is 50s too with a beautiful deep bath tub, I have had a shower installed over the bath. the hot water is 24/7.

The room has a built in double wardrobe, shelving, double bed, desk and stool. Towels and bedding can be provided. Bedisde cupboard with drawers.

I am in my early 60s, I work as a freelancer in the entertainment industry. I have lots of friends in London, love to catch up over dinner, go to art galleries, concerts. I do enjoy making the most of being in London. It is without doubt a challenging place to live but I try to stay in love with it! I like a calm, happy home, I feel one needs it with all the madness of the city around us. I speak French and Italian which can be helpful!

The area is well served for transport, ten minute walk to Pimlico, fifteen minute walk to Victoria and Sloane Square. There is a 24 bus stop just two minutes away. There are two really good gyms in the area, Battersea Park is a fifteen minute walk along the river. For shops you have Battersea Power Station, there is a large Sainsburys, a mini Waitrose in Victoria. A large Waitrose on the King’s Road and in Nine Elms. There is a farmer’s market on Saturday on Pimlico Road.

I am looking for someone who loves a relaxed evening in but enjoys evenings out London. In the past I have had a few guests and they will be happy to offer references. Some were students, others professionals. One person came to stay for three months and stayed four years!

Am happy to answer any questions.
