Pretty Room + En Suite in Lovely Victorian House!

Hiya! I'm Charlotte, I'm 43 and I live in a beautiful big three-storey Victorian house in Plaistow, East London. I own the house and rent out a room to a wonderful 33-year-old professional, Mira, who is honestly the sweetest person I've ever met. We love living together and are looking for a happy, cheery, kind and respectful woman to join us. We are both plus size and Asian (Indian and Malaysian) so someone who respects these things would be great.

You'll have a pretty single room on the first floor. The dimensions of the room are 2.65m x 2.2m. It is quite small so would suit someone with not much stuff.

Your room will contain a stylish IKEA bed with lots of storage underneath, an open IKEA wardrobe with wooden hangers, two chests of drawers, a full-length mirror with storage, two storage cupboards and a bedside table. You will also have access to your own bathroom, which isn't technically an en suite - it's the downstairs bathroom (both Mira and I have en suites attached to our rooms).

The downstairs bathroom is big and has a bath, shower, sink and loo with brass fittings. It isn't used by us. Visitors might occasionally need to use the loo, but you will have sole use of the bath and shower and all the storage space in the bathroom (two drawers under the sink and a storage cabinet).

My bedroom is on the same floor as yours. The floor above is Mira's, while the ground floor has the very colourful living room, your bathroom and the large pretty kitchen-diner.

I used to work in interior design so the house is done up very stylishly (I renovated it last year). I think the best feature is the kitchen extension, which has nine skylights and bifold doors out to the garden. It also has a breakfast bar and an instant hot water tap.

In terms of appliances, the kitchen-diner has an oven, induction hob, fridge, freezer, extractor fan, microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer. In the next month or so we will also be installing a large American-style fridge freezer with instant ice dispenser, and hopefully a dishwasher (the latter subject to plumbing considerations!)

I will cover all bills including council tax and also the following household supplies: toilet roll, kitchen roll, washing up liquid, sponges, washing machine capsules, fabric softener, tumble dryer liners and cleaning supplies.

The area is very quiet and residential. Upton Park is the nearest Tube station: it is less than ten minutes away on the bus, or a 20-minute walk.

Mira and I are both cheery, chatty and friendly, definitely glass half-full type of people. We're quiet in the house but are always up for a chat in the kitchen. I work from home as a writer, and Mira works from home three days a week, so someone is usually in to take deliveries.

Please note that for tax reasons, the person who takes this room unfortunately cannot work from home during weekday daytimes.
