A single room is becoming available in a beautiful, luminous and spacious house in Poplar, located on a quiet dead-end street with no through traffic, making the area very peaceful. The house sits just behind a church, adding to the calm atmosphere.
The house includes:
• A lovely back garden, perfect to relax in during warmer months
• Dining room
• Fully equipped kitchen
• Large living room with high ceilings
• Mezzanine area currently used as an office
The available room is a single room. If you need space for a desk, we can easily place it in the mezzanine or living room.
You can sometimes hear planes due to the proximity of City Airport, but it’s not disruptive, I personally don’t notice them anymore.
Location & transport
• 4 minutes walk to Poplar DLR station
• 8 minutes to Canary Wharf (Elizabeth line)
• 13 minutes to Canary Wharf (Jubilee line)
You’re also very close to all the shops, bars, and restaurants of Canary Wharf, as well as Chrisp Street Market for everyday shopping.
The landlords are great and very quick to fix anything that needs attention. They also like to meet new tenants before final approval.
Cleaning
We can either organise a cleaning schedule ourselves or hire a cleaning company. If we choose professional cleaning, the cost would be shared and added on top of the bills.
About me
I own a cocktail bar and mostly work evenings, so you’ll often have the house to yourself at night. I’m into gym, theatre, healthy living, yoga, and meditation. I’m clean and considerate at home and looking for someone similar.
Costs
• Rent: £265 per week / £1,148 per month
• Deposit: £1,345
• 1 month rent in advance
Monthly bills approx.:
• Council tax: £80
• Water: £46
• Gas & electricity: ~£65
• Internet: £17
Total bills: ~£208 per month
Total monthly cost: approx. £1,356
Please note:
• Rent is expected to increase 5% next year.
• Landlords use a referencing company for background, landlord reference, and affordability checks. Salary requirement is around £60k+.
• Two visits required: one viewing with me and a second meeting with the landlord.
• One-year tenancy contract.
