Description
Hello! I have a bright, calm two-bedroom garden flat with its own private fenced garden. I’m looking for a considerate person who’d enjoy living in a quiet, respectful household.
The Flat
• Two bedrooms, each with private bathroom
• Fully furnished with comfortable, allergy-friendly furniture
• Private garden with a work shed (used by myself)
• Weekly cleaner + robot vacuum (in price included)
• Secure ground floor with entrance camera
Council tax band E: £2,607.18
About the Household
The flat is also home to Marla, a gentle 7-year-old cat. She’s shy at first but very affectionate once she knows you. Because I have cat allergies, I don’t sleep in the flat, but I visit daily to spend time with Marla and make use of the work shed in the garden.
It’s absolutely essential that anyone living here genuinely likes cats and is kind and friendly towards Marla, as she is very much part of the home.
Atmosphere
The flat is intended as a peaceful, tidy, and comfortable space. It’s well suited to people who enjoy a calm environment, value privacy, and lean toward a quieter, more introverted lifestyle. It isn’t the right fit for frequent guests or parties — the goal is to keep the household relaxed and respectful.
Who This Suits Best
• Cat lovers who enjoy having a pet around
• People who appreciate a calm, tidy flat
• Introverts or those who prefer a quiet home life
• Great for someone who works from home, studies, or simply likes spending more time in a cosy, peaceful space.
Since I assume there will be quite many applicants, I would appreciate if you:
a) share a photo of you
b) share links to your social media if you have any
c) ask me at least 3 questions to find out if I am a good match to you as a flat mate
d) answer the following questions:
1. Three Words: Yourself
“Which three words best describe you as a flatmate?”
2. Living with Cats
“Marla is shy at first but very affectionate once she trusts you. Imagine you’ve just moved in — how would you go about building a good relationship with her?”
3. Three Words: Home Environment
“If you could describe your ideal home environment in three words, what would they be, and why those three?”
4. Lifestyle Fit
“The flat is designed to be peaceful and calm. What does a peaceful home mean to you, and how do you contribute to creating that atmosphere?”
5. Three Words: Flatmate Qualities
“Which three qualities do you most value in people you live with?”
6. Everyday Interactions
“When you share a home with others, how do you like to connect day to day — for example, do you enjoy the occasional chat over tea, shared meals sometimes, or mainly just a friendly hello in passing?”
7. Guests & Boundaries
“Every household has its own rhythm when it comes to visitors. What’s your philosophy on having friends or guests over, and how do you balance your social life with respecting shared space?”
8. Interests & Passions
“Outside of work or study, what kinds of things do you enjoy doing most, and how do those interests shape your day-to-day life at home?”
9. Looking Ahead
“How do you see the next five years of your life? Are there particular goals, plans, or changes you imagine for yourself?”
10. Conflict & Harmony
“When people live together, small frictions can happen — about cleaning, noise, or routines. Can you share an example of a time you resolved something like this in a fair and respectful way?”
