Description

Hello Spareroomers!
Unfortunately two members of our household are leaving our home in Putney at the end of our tenancy to move out of London, so we are looking for two people to fill out the rooms left available.

We have one small room (pays cheaper rent than the rest of the housemates) and one larger room. Both rooms have a double bed, are furnished and have full access to the rest of our home which is also super spacious.

A little bit about us...
We have been living in our home since August 2020 so have very much made our rented space our own safe haven over the years so understand how important it is for anyone new coming in to settle in and feel comfortable within an already established home.

We are an easy going household and we ensure that we look after each other whether it's checking in on one another, cleaning up after ourselves or just general respect for living in a house of four people. Open communication and kindness for one another is a big must for us and we really want someone who can feel like this is their home and not just a room. We would hate for our new housemate to feel stressed coming home at the end of the day.

We are a female Brit, working in healthcare (Eve, 29) and a male Canadian, working in film (Sam, 26) and met via Spare room. We both work Monday-Friday with some hybrid working involved.
Our interests include music, poetry and reading, arts and crafts (previous Fine Art and History of Art graduate), film (postgrad film student/ screenwriter), museums and galleries, exploring London, walks, running, fitness, cooking, baking, bouldering, ice hockey, gardening, playing board games, video games and all those good things.

A bit about the property, bills and the admin stuff...
Our contract runs from 1st August - 31st July each year.
Our property is £2740 pcm total and the rooms are split equally, except the smaller room that pays less for the smaller space. We rent from a private landlord who we have built a good rapport with over the years and will respond to emergencies and issues promptly.

We all take responsibility for one of the household bills, and pay back our housemate on the date of outgoing payment just to ensure no one is left with the responsibility of everything going out of their account, so the new roommate would also be taking on one of the bills.

As previously mentioned, we have been in our property for 4 years now so we have everything you could need. I am (Eve speaking here) personally a keen baker and enjoy cooking so we have lots of kitchen (and baking equipment), our house is fully furnished but our landlord is very happy for us to chop and change the format as long as we return the house back to normal upon leaving.

We have a downstairs shower and toilet,
a large kitchen, communal living room, conservatory,
a large front garden and back garden,
upstairs toilet and bathroom and the two remaining double bedrooms. We all use the whole of the house as much as we please and are not confined to our rooms unless we want some space and time to ourselves.
We also have a loft space which can be accessed to put anything taking up any space that cannot be stored within rooms or within the house.

Smaller Room:
Located on the first floor of the property,
Small double bed, desk, chair, clothes rail, shelves, chest of drawers and modular shelves included within furnishing.
Looks out onto the back garden

Larger Room:
Located on the first floor of the property,
Double bed, chest of drawers, two wardrobes, built in desk and access to balcony.
Looks out onto the front of the property.
Balcony is furnished with chairs and planters.

A little bit about the area, transport and other things I might have missed...
We are Band D in Wandsworth for Council Tax, so we are very lucky that we pay a small amount for this for our billing each month.

We are located 15 minutes walk from Southfields tube station (District line), 20 minutes walk from East Putney tube station (District line), 20 minutes walk from Putney station and have multiple bus stops outside our property that take us to Clapham Junction in approximately 20-30 minutes dependent on traffic.
Accessing the centre of London can also be done by bus from Putney Heath by taking the 14 if the Tube or Train is not your thing!

There is unreserved parking directly outside the property and you do not need a permit which is a great addition and saves on costs if you do have a car and need it to travel for work.

It takes approximately 20 minutes to walk down into Putney highstreet, and 15 to walk down to Southfields. Wimbledon Park is only 10 minutes away and we are also located to some other beautiful green areas nearby.
We are a five minute walk away from Wimbledon Common, 15 minutes away from the Wimbledon Tennis Courts and a short stroll away from Wimbledon Village too. On Saturdays we sometimes pop down to a farmers market which takes place in Wimbledon if we happen to be free and have previously been to pub quizzes in our local pubs up on Putney Heath.
Richmond Park can be accessed by a short bus ride and Kew Gardens isn't too far away either, Kingston again is approximately 30 minutes away by bus from our property, so we are well connected to South West London.

We usually frequent a Tesco Express which is just 5 minutes away from our property for small items, but use Southfields for bigger shops or the ASDA which is only a 5 minute drive down the A3. There is a Gym located at Southfields and our local GP is also only a 5 minute walk away from our house. We are also closely linked to Kingston Hospital, St George's in Tooting and Queen Mary's Hospital in Roehampton.

Due to our schedules we are going to be viewing the property on Saturday 13th July. If you would like to view please do send me a message with the following information:

A bit of information about yourself, what do you enjoy doing? How do you like to relax? How do you feel about socialising with other housemates? About having guests come to stay?
What do you do for work and what are your hours? Do you need to be working from home? Hybrid working?
We try to keep on top of cleanliness, will you be happy to share cleaning responsibilities? How long do you plan to stay?
