Description
About the house
The house is a 3 bed terrace on a quiet street. Both neighbours either side are lovely and luckily are both families with teenagers so are very quiet!
If wanting to bring your car, permit parking is around £100 per year but is easy to sort if required!
Downstairs we have a lounge / dining room and a wraparound kitchen that leads into a garden (that I know does need some work but it’s hard to get grass to grow in such a small area!)
On the first floor we have a bathroom, a spare bedroom / office (that we also use to store some of our clothes) and my bedroom.
The second floor is the bedroom for rent, it’s a spacious double with room for a desk. Plenty of built in storage and lots of light. The bedroom will be unfinished (although if required I can ask my outgoing housemate if she would be open to sell anything particular I. e bed).
Rent is currently £1150 each, bills come to approx £200 each a month at the moment but of course this varies throughout the year.
location
The house is on a quiet street about 10 mins walk from both Raynes Park and Wimbledon chase stations. Wimbledon common is about 25 mins walk, and we have a lovely small park / woods across the road (about 5 mins walk from the front door). Raynes Park is much more residential than the surrounding areas but it still has a few lovely pubs / cafes / restaurants. We have a large Waitrose about ten mins walk and a small Sainsbury’s / coop/ Tesco all a similar walk away. There’s also a huge Tesco and Asda that I usually drive to but are both easily accessed by bus.
About me
Although the house is a 3 bed, you will be living with just me and my golden retriever Tony (hence why liking dogs is a must). I am a 30 year old project manager, originally from Lancashire but I’ve lived in London on and off since I graduated from university. I work from home mostly but when I’m in the office (usually Thursdays) it is in Victoria. I spend most weekends either out and about with my dog or out and about eating / drinking with friends (balance is key, right). I also love having my friends around for drinks or food, the house is set up very well for hosting!
New housemate prefs
- female only (sorry guys!)
- someone who’s a similar age (late 20’s / early 30’s)
- Doesn’t matter to me if home based or office based as we have enough space to both wfh at the same time
- MUST must must like dogs (would consider someone who had their own dog as long as they got on with mine)
- Although I have a dog I do still take care of the house / keep the house clean (would never expect anyone to clean up after my dog either just to clarify) so looking for someone who is also houseproud
- Would love to find someone who is happy to have dinners together / go for drinks etc but also isn’t offended if I go out for the day with the dog or want an early night after work
The move in date is very flexible but I have put 13 January to ensure enough time to go through referencing.
My housemate is leaving as she is moving in with her partner in Cambridge (cry). This would therefore taking over her part of the Dexters contract that is up in December 2026 with a potential to extend. You would have to pass referencing from Dexters and half of five weeks rent (£1326.50) paid to the outgoing housemate. She has said she will pay the £50 fee to Dexters to change the name on the contract. The deposit will be paid back to you out of the Dexters deposit scheme after the agreement has ended.
