I'm sadly having to leave this amazing flat and am looking for someone to take my spot.
The room comes with a huge built-in wardrobe with plenty of storage. There is also an option to purchase bed with gas lift storage, and chest of drawers - please ask for details.
There is also access to a mini balcony.
The flat:
A two-bedroom place in a top floor flat. Big double bedroom with ensuite (available), a small bedroom with a big-shared bathroom (with a bath) and a dining/living area with a small integrated kitchen.
Technically unfurnished, but a lot of the living room furniture has been provided by the current flatmate - a 3-seater sofa, TV, comfy chair, dining table and chairs and kitchenware.
Comes with a shared swimming pool which is free to use including a jacuzzi and sauna.
Within a secure gated complex with a fob entry. Concierge available 24 hours a day and very good with taking deliveries. There is also a fob-entry car park underneath the complex, with a flat-dedicated space that should be available at the discretion of the landlord (if you need a car parking space, please let us know).
Flat gets a lot of natural light and living area has two balconies with space for a table and chairs, and a view of the river and Canary Wharf.
Living area also has room for a desk / workspace.
The location:
A quiet neighbourhood adjacent to the river. As well as being a 15 min walk from Rotherhithe Station (Overground) and Canada Water (Jubilee line), the bus stop is right outside the complex – C10 takes you to Bermondsey Station within 10 mins. Very connected in terms of electric bikes/scooters.
Convenience store (Co-op) and off-licence 2 min walk away, and a Tescos Extra about 25 min walk away (or 15 min bus).
Canada Water has lovely cafes, a shopping complex and is very close to the Globe Pond nature reserve and Southwark Park. A few lovely pubs around the docks close by – the Mayflower is the flat favourite! Has gorgeous food and a great atmosphere.
About us:
The person you'll be sharing the flat with is James (he/him, 29 yo)
James is very-easy going, fun, and open-minded. He's a great cook - he regularly bakes sweet goods and is very committed to cooking a roast every Sunday. He works in the creative industry (does not work from home) and is interested in visiting gardens, art-exhibits, going to theatre shows and museums.
He’s also made the flat a very lovely space – most of the décor and furniture in the living room is his, but whoever moves in is welcome to make changes!
James is really sociable and is very open to meeting new people so will be great with visitors staying etc.
About you:
Very flexible about who shares the space but should be queer-friendly please!
If you can keep the living area and kitchen clean and tidy, there won’t be any issues!
Unfortunately, the landlord won’t take couples.
Bills etc:
We let from an estate agents, so you'll require the usual references and checks.
Deposit will be one month's rent (to be confirmed, it may be less).
Rent is £1,300 per month (30th of every month). Water included.
Variable energy cost, average of £80pm (far less than that in the summer months). Wi-fi £20pm
Council Tax Band F - currently £130pm.
Option to purchase a space in the car park for c.£100pm.
