Description
An amazing double room with an en-suite is becoming available in our top-floor flat in the intersection between Shoreditch High Street and Old Street and we are looking for a new flatmate to take it! One of our current flatmates is going to move out so we're looking for someone to move in.
We're looking for someone who we can get on with and live with. This is a home rather than just a room and would be great to find someone who is independent but is also happy to share dinner or a visit the local cafes every now and then.
The flatmates
We are one girl from Liverpool and a guy from London, both in our early thirties. We work full time and have active social lives and are out several days per week. On weekends, we do the usual things like going to markets, to the movies, eating in/out, going for drinks, travelling, cycle tours etc. So despite of the location, the flat is our "sanctuary", somewhere peaceful to come back to. Therefore, not looking for someone who still enjoys midweek partying..
The flat
We are in a beautiful old building next to St Leonard's Church, with apartments in the top floor and offices in the floors below, which makes it unusually quiet. The flat is split in two storeys and has the style of an old warehouse, with super high ceilings, a concrete floor and large windows. It also has relatively-new and well-sized kitchen and bathroom. The main/entrance floor, comprises the fully equipped open plan kitchen/living room, a great spiral staircase, two rooms, and a bathroom. The en-suite bedroom is one level up. The communal areas of the flat are always clean and tidy, and would be great to find someone with the same level of commitment.
The en-suite room bedroom
The double room is large and has plenty of space and access from a spiral staircase from the main room. It has one big window facing a school yard but the bathroom has another big window. It is tucked away enough from the High Street to make it quite quiet for the location. The bulk of the furniture (bed, desk, sofa) belongs to the outgoing flatmate. We are ideally looking for someone to who is willing to purchase these upon taking the room.
Ideal Flatmate
Pays the rent/bills on time
Professional
Active social life - but don't bring the party back
Clean and tidy
Either a girl or a guy
Happy to socialise and have a coffee/drink
Non smoker (at least not in the flat)
Willing to purchase the furniture for the en-suite room
No:
Students
No "live in" partner
The area
Zone 1. Shops, bars, supermarkets, galleries, cinemas, restaurants, Columbia Market, Brick Lane Market, Spitalfields Market, a step-stone from The City and the Silicon Roundabout... no need to say more!
The transport
8 minute walk to Old Street (Northern Line, trains)
10-12 minute walk to Liverpool Street (Central, Met, Circle, Hammersmith & City Lines, trains, Overground, transport to Stansted) or 4 mins bus ride
3 minute walk to Shoreditch High Street (Overground)
5 minute walk to Hoxton (Overground)
2 minute walk to buses to central London
The price
Rent is £1400 for the room, bills included (water, electricity, gas and council tax) and is paid monthly directly to the landlord via standing order. Other monthly costs not included on the price would be the Internet (around £13.50 p/p/m). The deposit the lower room is £1381 and you will need a reference check from an agency to sign onto the lease. People looking for longer stays would be ideal.
We are on an existing 12 month contract that ends June 2025, you would be signing an addendum to replace the outgoing flatmate on our contract.
Move-in date
The en-suite room room is available from 12th October, however there is flexibility to move in asap upon further discussion.
We will be doing viewings in person over the coming weeks.
If this sounds good to you, please get in touch with us and which room you are interested in. Let us know a bit about yourself (profession, age, what are you looking for, email, phone number, etc) and also please let us know when you could move in.
Looking forward to meeting you!
