As my partner and I are moving out of north west London, this lovely traditional 1 bedroom flat is now available to rent. It is perfectly located on the first floor of a stunning Victorian mid-terraced house on a leafy residential street in zone 2 (South Hampstead/Swiss Cottage areas) and is literally a 5 minute walk from both Finchley Road station and South Hampstead station, making central London very easily accessible. Finchley Road and Frognal station is just a 10 minute walk away as well, and you can get to Hampstead Heath or to Regent’s Park in less than 30 mins on foot. There are also lots of shops and restaurants just seconds away from the flat.
The flat itself is spacious with large rooms and high ceilings, and is ideal for a couple or a single person looking for a bit more room. It is furnished, although replacement of furniture items can be negotiated with the landlord. It has a living room/dining room, separate kitchen with appliances (including washing machine), and one double bedroom with en suite bathroom, which has a bathtub with overhead shower. There is gas central heating throughout and a good amount of storage space (including three wardrobes in the bedroom!). Despite its proximity to Finchley Road, the flat is quiet and peaceful.
The rental period typically runs from August until August and the flat is managed by a private landlord, although reference checks are carried out via a local estate agency. They require proof of employment/income, ID and reference from previous rental if applicable. We’ve not needed to contact the landlord much, but when we have he has been prompt and receptive to our requests - for example, we asked for a new mattress recently and a new mattress and bed were delivered within a couple of days. The council tax is band E and EPC rating is C, although bills have tended to be less than expected.
