Description
Feb March April sublet by Stepney Green Station
Bright, comfortable room in a top-floor 9th/10th-floor split-level flat, one minute from Stepney Green station, with a balcony and incredible views over London. Big windows on both sides mean excellent natural light throughout the day and night, whatever the season — the flat feels open, calm, and genuinely nice to live in.
I’m an artist/filmmaker and work abroad fairly often, including over the coming months, so my room is available. I’ll be away most of the time, though I may be around for the odd night in between things. Dates are flexible — I’m away until at least the beginning of April, and possibly through April as well.
The flat is just under 70 square metres and spread over two levels. Downstairs there’s a large living room with access to a big balcony and wide skyline views, plus a decent, well-equipped kitchen. Upstairs are the bedrooms, with the bathroom in between — including a very 60s jacuzzi bath (too noisy to enjoy, but very on-brand).
The building dates from 1963 and is inspired by Le Corbusier’s Unité d’Habitation. The flat hasn’t been modernised much and keeps a slightly kitsch-but-cute, lived-in feel — very much a home rather than a showroom.
You’ll be sharing with my lovely flatmate Molly, who’s friendly, considerate, and easy to live with. The building itself is quiet, respectful, and fairly family-oriented.
Location
Extremely well connected: one minute to Stepney Green station, 7–8 minutes’ walk to Whitechapel (Elizabeth Line), Santander and e-bikes right outside, 5 minutes to the canal, and around 15 minutes to central London. Whitechapel Road is a goldmine for shops, food, and markets, and Genesis cinema is nearby. A historic, characterful area with great everyday life.
House vibe
Clean, calm, and low drama. Basic shared-space etiquette applies — keeping things tidy, being considerate, and contributing to cleaning — but otherwise it’s a relaxed, easy place to live.
This is a room rental, not a holiday let.
How to enquire
If you’re interested, please send a message on WhatsApp or SpareRoom rather than calling. A short intro about yourself would be great (age, what you do, where you work, how you spend your time day-to-day, what your weeks and weekends usually look like, and what you’re interested in or passionate about). If you’re happy to, a photo or two would be really helpful. I’ll share this with my flatmate Molly, and if it feels like a good fit on both sides, we’ll arrange a viewing.
