Hiya,
I am moving flats in December to move in with my best friend and am looking for someone to take over my room.
The flat is in Stockwell on Clapham Road, 5 minutes from Stockwell station (Victoria & Northern line). It is also:
- 15 min walk to Clapham, Brixton, Oval
- 20 min walk to Battersea
- 25 min walk to Kennington
It is a double room with an en-suite. In addition to this, there’s a shared living room/kitchen & balcony. Bills are approx. £124 (council tax & WiFi included).
The other flatmates are lovely - both are working professionals (women). There is also a wider building (7 flats in total) group chat and everyone’s very friendly.
Our tenancy agreement is until June 2025 but we’ve not had any issues renewing in the past if this is something you’d like. I can also be slightly flexible on the move in day.
For the sake of full transparency, please see my subjective list of pros and cons with this room:
Pros
- En-suite!
- Balcony
- Fantastic location for getting places
- OK storage with built in wardrobe (+ under bed storage)
- Quietest room in the flat as not on the main road + can’t hear neighbours
- Had no rent increase
- Doesn’t get too cold in the winter
Cons
- Stockwell itself isn’t super exciting (but it’s close to many places that are)
- Main road can be loud if the balcony door is open in the summer
- Letting agent can be slow to respond (but has always fixed things that needed fixing)
- There’s a hole in the carpet in the entrance to the room (see pic)
- Room is a bit oddly shaped but no issue getting a desk / furniture in there (see pics)
- You can hear the underground rumbling if you tune into it (I’ve been here for 1.5 years and this has never been an issue)
We’re looking for someone who is friendly, tidy, and up for being social every now and again ☺️🎉ideally viewings will be within the next couple of weeks - message me and we can sort when!
