Description
My flatmate is moving in with his partner but I really don't want to move so...
The room:
Large double room with an en suite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe. Can be furnished or unfurnished.
The flat:
Ground floor in a modern building with a massive sitting room. We're super close to both Brixton and Stockwell stations (for both Victoria and Northern lines), as well as Clapham.
Furniture is the standard London rental variety - Disintegrating IKEA stuff accumulated from the past tenants, but I try to keep the place clean and tidy.
Total bills (wifi, heating, council tax etc) tend to come to about £135 each per month.
Me (the other flatmate):
I am a 30 year old with interests that include running, cooking, and occasionally going to the pub (groundbreaking). I do also play for an LGBT hockey team.
I tend to do 4 or 5 days in the office so have no issue if you want to work from home. Not party flat but having people round is fine, and there's a sofa bed in the sitting room for occasional guests.
The pros:
The letting agent is genuinely one of the best I've ever dealt with in London. He's actually friendly and competent.
You are very close to everything - the city centre is essentially walking distance or a quick tube/bus and Brixton/Clapham are on the doorstep. Commuting costs are zero if you have a bike.
The cons:
Ground floor and facing the street, so probably don't want to leave windows open at night.
It gets cold in winter and hot in summer. Big glass windows with terrible electric heaters instead of radiators.
