A wheelchair-bound lady in her 50s is seeking a Helpful Housemate for her home to give them a little bit of practical help – up to 3 hours a week - in exchange for the lower-than-market- rent.

The lady has a female live-in carer for her care needs, but would appreciate having a friendly and trusted lodger who is happy to give a little practical help in exchange for the lower-than-market rent.

This help would include helping to keep the kitchen, bathroom and communal areas clean, sorting out the recycling and ad hoc other light tasks. There is a good sized garden and if someone enjoyed gardening and wanted to lend a hand that would also be appreciated.

The accommodation on offer is a good-sized double room furnished with double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. There is a separate toilet near the Housemate’s bedroom, and shared use of the kitchen, wet room and sitting room (which is currently being fixed up).

The property is conveniently located in Streatham, around 5 minutes’ walk from Streatham Station and the High Road with lots of shops and a bus station, and less than 10 minutes’ walk from Streatham Common.

Despite being in a wheelchair, the lady likes to be as independent as possible; she enjoys planning and overseeing DIY projects ad using her computer.

Helpful Housemates usually work or study and have a few spare hours each week to offer a light hand to their Host. The ideal Helpful Housemate will be a positive, friendly, kind, helpful and reliable female. It is a non-smoke property.
