Hi, I'm looking for a clean, tidy, and considerate flatmate for my lovely bright and airy flat, which you will have to yourself for at least half of the time. I am mainly living in Bristol due to starting a new job there, but will regularly be back in London for a few days at a time, with some working from home. During these times you will be sharing with an easy going and young at heart early 50s guy.
The flat will be on the market for sale (so it'll need to be kept very clean and tidy for viewings). Therefore this is a short-term offer of at least 3 months, but up to 6 months. The room will be available from the start of May; there's some flexibility with move in dates.
It's a top (third) floor modern flat located just off Streatham High Road; note that there is no elevator. The bedroom contains a double bed, a large wardrobe and a drawer. The rest of the flat comes with an open plan kitchen/lounge with sofabed, bath with shower, and central heating. Off-street parking (unallocated space) is available to the rear of the building. I will retain the second (smaller) bedroom for storage and my stays. The flat will remain fully furnished until the sale is completed.
It is a 5 minute walk to Streatham Hill station (for Clapham Junction, Victoria and London Bridge) and a 10 minute walk to Streatham station (for Thameslink services to the City), both in Zone 3. Also there is a constant supply of buses to central London via Brixton (10-15 minutes) for the speedy Victoria line.
The local neighbourhood has a selection of supermarkets, a couple of fitness centres, Tooting Bec Lido, an indoor swimming pool, ice rink, cinema and a decent selection of cafes, bars and restaurants.
TV licence and WiFi included. Council Tax will be nearly £70/month. We can discuss how to fairly split the electricity, gas and (metered) water bills.
