Description
Hi there!
We are two females, 1 Scottish, 1 American, both well embedded in London life. We’re looking for a new person for our serene, 1st floor Victorian terrace flat. We’re perched at the top of Streatham Hill, a 5-minute walk from trains to Victoria Station and 15 minute walk to trains from Tulse Hill into Blackfriars and East London.
We’re looking for a chill, progressive-minded, mature professional enjoys a homey household where people talk to each- other and share occasional meals and socialising. We’re a non-smoking house but omnivores and there’s a BBQ out in the back yard. Someone who actively likes gardening and takes pride in having a clean, happy home would be great. We keep the house really clean and would expect that any flatmate do the same.
The house is old and her glory has faded a bit at the edges but has gorgeous light from 2 skylights, and we make it cosy with books and plants. There’s no damp and the landlord is kind and responsive. We’ve got a galley kitchen with fairly new oven and hob, dishwasher and laundry as well as tons of pots and pans and cooking items for common use. There’s also a large living-dining room with a table we can fit 6 people around for dinner parties. There’s a cubicle shower with additional separate toilet. We’re on a quiet LTN street but there is some street parking if you drive.
All bills included in the monthly rent. Winter heating may drive up the cost a bit but we try to anticipate this and plan for it. The total monthly cost has never gone above £950 in our tenancy.
The room is actually 2 small rooms for £950. —one room has a double bed, side table, and bookshelves, the second room has a wardrobe, shelving, and space for a work desk and chair, perfect for people who want to work from home without having to use their bedroom or common spaces.
Ideally, we’d like someone open to a 6-month minimum lease with the intent to stay longer but can be flexible for the right person. We would consider a reduced rate for someone who is looking for a Mon-Fri let for work or similar – let us know the circumstance and we’ll take it from there.
Please get in touch with some info about yourself and we will get in touch if it seems like a good fit. 😊 If there is a high volume of responses, we may try to meet people via Zoom in the first instance.
Thanks!
