Description
Hi,
I'm Martin and together with my housemate Matt we're looking for someone to move into a room in our flat in Streatham Hill. It's available from early May 2025 although there may be scope to move in earlier. Our other housemate, Gaby, who we have lived with for three years, is now moving out as she has bought her own place. We love the flat and living in Streatham Hill and are excited to welcome a new person!
Our flat is on the ground floor of a two storey building, on a quiet residential street only ten minutes’ walk from the high street with Streatham Hill train station and buses. Tooting Bec Common is at the end of the street, and if you keep going, it’s a twenty-minute walk to Balham with tube and rail links. The street is quiet and residential, with shops and pubs a short walk away. Brixton is only 15 mins up the road via numerous buses too.
The flat has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, a large shared living space and the kitchen is open plan with a dining table. We have a good sized garden to hang out in during the summer and for gardening. The house was refurbished before we moved in so the finishings are fresh, plus there is a contract for maintenance provided by the owner who helps with any issues.
The available room is bright with east and south facing windows and has space for a desk to allow for home working. It comes unfurnished and the rent is £916 per month. Household bills shared between us are around £100 a month and cover council tax (house is tax band B), water, TV/internet, and gas and electric. We have a cleaner that comes every fortnight, and we share a big shop every so often to get household essentials for cleaning, cooking etc.
About us: I work in communications for a mental health charity and enjoy cycling, playing and watching sports, going to the cinema and comedy shows. Matt is a teacher and enjoys pottering around in the garden, running, creative activities and volunteering at a community radio station. We like hanging out in the house together, whether it be a few drinks and some food, watching a film, or a BBQ in the summer, although it’s easy to have our own space when needed as well.
We are looking for someone tidy, relaxed, and sociable. If you have any questions, feel free to give us a shout!
