After seven brilliant years living here with my lovely friend and housemate, her time in our bright Streatham Hill flat is coming to an end — which means her double room will soon be free for someone new to join me.
The flat is in a fantastic spot, just two minutes from Streatham Hill station, with great cafés, shops and Tooting Common right on the doorstep.
It’s light, airy and spacious, with a comfy lounge (with a lovely view) and a dining alcove that’s perfect for catching up over food or a glass of wine. There’s also a separate well-equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a full-size bath and shower.
The landlady is great and is arranging for the room to be decorated before the new tenant moves in - and give the flat a bit of extra TLC to welcome the new person.
The room itself is a good-sized, with a double bed and built-in wardrobes offering plenty of storage. Then there is plenty of space in the room for additional furniture.
You’d be sharing with me, Lizzie — a friendly, sociable professional in my 40s who plays lots of tennis and enjoys a good balance of being out and about as well as relaxing at home.
The flat would suit someone who mixes up their week between a few days in the office and a couple working from home (using the kitchen/dining space or having a desk in your room), and who’s looking for a place that’s sociable but also easy-going.
It’s lovely to have evenings where we can have a chat, watch telly together, and enjoy the odd dinner together — but equally it’s nice to enjoy a bit of quiet downtime too.
Whilst its not a party flat, it's a lovely space to have friends round for the odd supper etc (whilst being mindful of our really lovely neighbours in the building!)
The room will be available any time during September or October.
Rent is £895 per month plus bills of around £220 (which includes internet, tv subscriptions and all utility bills).
