Description
Hello
I've recently taken the leap of buying my own home, so its time to find a new flatmate to join the lovely Colin in this pretty split-level maisonette on the second and third floor of a victorian house.
A little bit about the house...
It's a large 2 bedroom, clean and tidy house on a quiet road off Streatham Hill with original wooden floors throughout and high ceilings. The living room is a good size with two very comfy sofas, a widescreen TV, Blu-ray player, Tivo service with Virgin media so excellent broadband and TV package.
The kitchen is huge for London, with a dining table which then leads on through to the back door where you can walk downstairs to the garden. There is also plenty of storage as we have access to the loft upstairs as well as a large cupboard in the hall.
The bedroom itself is a very spacious double, with a large sash window and a feature fireplace. The room is also complete with two large purpose-built wardrobes and a chest of drawers - plenty of space for all you clothes.
The desk seen in pics will be going, and the bed and chest of drawers can go too if you have your own.
Other info –
It’s approximately a 7-10 minutes walk to Streatham Hill train station where it’s only 18 mins to Victoria, 30 mins to London Bridge, 3 mins to Balham & 8 mins to Clapham Junction. There are also lots of buses to Brixton tube station. There are also several supermarkets nearby, including M&S Food and Streatham has lots of shops, bars and restaurants, an Odeon cinema and a leisure centre with ice rink and pool. Brockwell Park is also a really lovely park which is close to the house and there is a Fitness First and Virgin gym nearby too.
The room is available officially from 5 January but you could get in a little earlier if you wish.
The rent is £800 a month excluding bills (about £209/month - Council Tax Band D) and there is a £900 deposit (deposit protection scheme). The house is managed by a letting agent who is very responsive when anything needs to be fixed.
Its been great living with Colin over the past few years. Its not a party house but very homely and would suit someone who would like to share a glass of wine and dinner, catching up with a movie. Would certainly suit a gay-friendly someone with a love of sci-fi!
Please do get in touch if you are interested.
Thanks!
Karine (and Colin)
