Double room N4 – suit female post-grad student

Double room (single occupancy) in our 5-bedroom home in the Finsbury Park area of Haringey, N4.

Our ideal fit would be a female post-graduate student or academic wishing to stay in London for two years or less. We've had several overseas research students in the past and this has always worked out very well. We currently have one female student staying with us.

Please note that the room would not be suitable for anyone looking for permanent accommodation in London.

We are a married couple – a retired academic (archaeologist/anthropologist) and documentary film-maker. We’re relaxed, easy-going and friendly - but also totally respectful of your privacy. We have two over-friendly Goldendoodles, so any new lodger must love dogs!

The room available to rent overlooks the garden. It's furnished with a king size bed with under-bed storage; desk, chair and shelving unit and two large sets of drawers.

The shared spaces are: lounge/dining room; kitchen (with table), upstairs bathroom, two toilets (one upstairs and one downstairs) and large garden.

Rent is £800 per calendar month, payable in advance on the first of the month, with an £800 returnable deposit – also in advance. The rent includes gas and electricity, broadband, bed linen and towels and weekly use of washing machine and tumble dryer.

Our 3-storey Victorian home is located in a quiet residential street with plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants nearby. There is a small supermarket and cafe within a two minute walk of the house.

Transport links are excellent. Finsbury Park Tube/Overground is a 10-15 minute walk away (5 minutes by bus), with buses running regularly every few minutes. Additionally both Harringay and Crouch Hill Overground stations are less than a ten minute walk away.

For those who enjoy running or the oudoors, there is a Parkland Walk (disused railway line) that runs from Finsbury Park at one end to Highgate Wood at the other, just a two minute walk from our home.
