Double room N4 – suit female post-grad student

Double room (single occupancy) in our 5-bedroom home in the Stroud Green area of Haringey, N4.

Our ideal fit would be a female post-graduate student or academic wishing to stay in London for two years or less. We've had several overseas research students in the past and this has always worked out very well. Sadly, our current lodger is leaving due to a family emergency and the room comes free on 1st November.

Please note that the room would not be suitable for anyone looking for permanent accommodation in London.

We are a married couple – a retired academic (archaeologist/anthropologist) and documentary film-maker. We’re relaxed, easy-going and friendly - but also totally respectful of your privacy. We have one female lodger in her thirties currently living with us. We also have two over-friendly Goldendoodles – so any new lodger must love dogs! That's important because they will definitely want to make friends with you and they are impossible to ignore.

The room is large with lots of light and overlooks the garden. It's furnished with a king size bed with under-bed storage; desk, chair and shelving unit and two large sets of drawers for clothes.

The shared spaces are: large open plan lounge/dining room; large kitchen (with table), upstairs bathroom, two toilets (one upstairs and one downstairs) and a large garden.

Rent is £800 per calendar month, payable on the first of the month in advance, with £800 returnable deposit – also in advance. The rent includes gas and electricity bills, broadband link, bed linen and duvet, towels, hairdryer and weekly use of a large washing machine and tumble dryer.

Our home is located in a quiet residential street, but with plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants nearby - in Stroud Green Road and Crouch End Broadway. There is a small supermarket and cafe within a two minute walk from the house.

Transport links are excellent. Finsbury Park Overground and Tube (Victoria and Piccadilly lines) is a 10-15 minute walk away. Buses to the tube run every five minutes and Harringay and Crouch Hill Overground stations are a ten minute walk away.

For those who enjoy the outdoors or jogging, there is a Parkland Walk very close by, with Finsbury Park at one end and Highgate Wood at the other.
