Description
I am looking for someone to move into a double room in a lovely 3 story house in Sydenham, SE London, very close to Sydenham station (zone 3 on the London Overground with trains every 8 minutes, as well as Southern trains to London Bridge, Battersea, Clapham, and London Victoria). Buses to Peckham, Catford, Lewisham, Dulwich and central London are all on the doorstep too. Sydenham road is at the end of the street, which includes a range of shops such as a large Lidl supermarket, gyms, bakery, cafes etc.
House includes living room, separate shared office, kitchen (with dishwasher, 2 ovens, air fryer, electric cooker etc), garden, bathroom and separate downstairs toilet, parking, garage and A LOT of storage space. Its just me living here, so there is plenty of space and we won't be living on top of each other.
Rent is £800pm, inclusive of council tax. Additional bills of broadband, water, TC licence and energy is an extra £85-£105 a month (energy varies depending on time of year).
The room is available in mid-February though this is fairly flexible as my housemate vacating the room may leave sooner and if you need to move a bit later, that can also be accommodated.
The landlord is a good friend of mine who now lives in Manchester and responds immediately to any issues that may arise.
A bit more about me - I am a gay guy, newly 40 (gulp), born and bred in London. I work for a trade union and mostly (but not entirely) work from home. I am a huge film fan and theatre-goer, also massively into music and love utilising London's varied night life. Left wing politics, travelling and literature are some of my other passions.
I am looking for someone friendly (particularly LGBT+ friendly!) and who would like to make the place their home. I am outgoing but do treat home as a place to relax and switch off. If you're likely to want to bring big groups back at the end of the night to carry on the party, then this probably isn't the place for you.
I'm not fussy when it comes to cleaning, but would like help with keeping the place in good shape.
