Description
I am looking for someone to move into a double room in a lovely 3 story house in Sydenham, SE London, very close to Sydenham station (zone 3 on the London Overground with trains every 8 minutes, as well as Southern trains to London Bridge, Battersea, Clapham, and London Victoria). Buses to Peckham, Catford, Lewisham, Dulwich and central London are all on the doorstep too. Sydenham road is at the end of the street, which includes a range of shops such as a large Lidl supermarket, gyms, bakery, cafes etc.
House includes living room, separate shared office, kitchen (with dishwasher, 2 ovens, air fryer, electric cooker etc), garden, bathroom and separate downstairs toilet, parking, garage and A LOT of storage space. Its just me living here, so there is plenty of space and we won't be living on top of each other.
Rent is £800pm and this includes council tax (which would usually be £104 each). The bills are: fibre broadband, TV license and water which comes to £46 total and then the energy bill which varies depending on the time of year but ranges from £35-75 each.
The room is available at the end of September, though this is fairly flexible.
The landlord is a good friend of mine who now lives in Manchester and responds immediately to any issues that may arise.
A bit more about me - I am a gay guy in my late 30s, born and bred in London. I work for a trade union and mostly work from home but would be open to the idea of going to the office a bit more to work around any new housemate, if need be, though have shared the office with my current housemate which has worked out well. I am a huge film fan and theatre-goer, also massively into music and love utilising London's varied night life. Left wing politics, travelling and literature are some of my other passions.
I am looking for someone friendly (particularly LGBT+ friendly!) and who would like to make the place their home, so short term lets probably wouldn't work.
Please note that even though the room is available at the end of September, I am very flexible in terms of a moving in date. So please still get in touch if you're not planning on moving until a bit later.
