0-5 minutes walk away
Description
Our housemate is moving out to live with his partner so we have a spacious double bedroom to rent in Sydenham, about 5 minutes walk away from the Sydenham overground station.
THE ROOM
The room is pretty spacious and comes unfurnished apart from the wardrobe (which is the landlord's) and the sofa (our housemate's but he's going to leave it behind so we can get rid of that if preferred. The room sits at the back of the house so it's nice and quiet away from the road.
THE FLAT
In the rest of the flat we have a good sized kitchen for everyone to get in if needed, a good amount of storage with a couple of cupboards in the hallway, and a shared living room which isn't huge, but it's comfortable enough for watching a movie/hanging out/having some dinner etc. and we have a sofa bed in there in case guests are staying.
We have a great relationship with the downstairs neighbour who's a lovely old lady, so we try to keep noise down and we're not massive party people anyway. The vibe in the flat is pretty relaxed.
The rent for the room is a split of the total rent (Rick's room is a bit smaller so he pays less and the two larger rooms make up for it), so it would be £762pcm + bills. Jim manages all the bills and they have been working out around £140pcm each but are likely to come down a little bit as we're changing broadband and have just had smart meters installed. Contract length is 12 months and the landlord will need to do referencing when redoing our contract.
We don't have any pets, we don't smoke inside the flat, and we try to communicate anytime there'll be someone else in the flat (if family/friends are staying/a partner is coming over).
ABOUT US
We're Jim & Rick two friends from university who love the arts, so we're really into film/TV/theatre. Jim works for an alcohol subscription box and Rick works for a drama school. As mentioned we're not really party people but we do like to socialise at the weekly pub quiz, or put a film and enjoy a night in, but we're always respectful if the other wants their own space.
THE AREA
For transport we're really well connected, there's a bus stop right outside the front door with the 176, 197, 202, 122 running 24 hours.
The overground is a 5 minute walk down the road going up to Canada Water or Whitechapel for a direct link into central London, and Southern Rail trains going to London Bridge or Victoria.
There's a big Lidl, Tesco Express or Sainsbury's Local all within walking distance, lots of great restaurants, pubs, and cafes that we like to go to, and it's a 15 minute walk to Crystal Palace Park for green space.
Get in touch if you're interested and we can jump on a video call to meet each other, and we'll try to do showings throughout December and January in person too!
