Double room with ensuite in Telegraph Hill house

We have a lovely bright double room available now in our large, slightly ramshackle and definitely bohemian four storey house on Telegraph Hill, as our current lodger is moving in with his girlfriend. The room is a bay-windowed room on the second floor at the rear of the property and looks out over rambling gardens with a night-time view of the City and Canary Wharf beyond. It is very quiet, although there are sometimes foxes, and always birds.

The room is neutrally decorated and carpeted, with new curtains and new oak furniture. It comes with a double bed, bedside lamp, a wardrobe, a bedside table, a set of drawers, and a desk and lamp. Other furniture could be available through negotiation.

A toilet and shower room is immediately adjacent, and in the open-plan kitchen and diner downstairs there is a woodburning stove and a view out to the lounge and garden beyond, which has a patio and furniture for summer use. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer.

The downstairs lounge is available for shared use and has a large television with Netflix and so on. There is a games console. We have a shared Tidal subscription so all your music would be free too. There is a weekly cleaner.

Others in the house: a couple (teachers) and their fourteen-year old. There are also two friendly cats, one longer-haired than the other. We are a non-smoking and mostly vegetarian household. We use a separate bathroom and lounge elsewhere in the house. The house is certainly large enough for a strong sense of privacy, we would say.

There is free parking and wifi, and bills are included. It is just over five minutes walk downhill to the Overground tube station or the very short train journey in to London Bridge. Many buses run into town too. Telegraph Hill Park is very close as are a number of decent pubs and Sainsbury’s. Peckham is a twenty minute walk through quiet back streets or a ten minute bus journey and there is a cinema and gym at Goldsmith’s. Evening buses take you to the South Bank in twenty-five minutes. We have lived in New Cross Gate for many years and strongly recommend the area.

We are looking for 950 per calendar month and a a £500 deposit.
