About Us

We're Tom (35, he/him) & Patrick (33, he/him), an English/Irish queer couple. Tom works in Senior Management within the Arts and Patrick works as a City lawyer. When not working, or spending time with friends and family, we love spending time enjoying live music in all its forms (from going to the ballet to Beyoncé to Mighty Hoopla), travelling (whether to the countryside or somewhere further afield), eating out and, lately, home renovations!

Currently, it is just the two of us and so we are looking to welcome a lodger to rent a recently renovated and generously proportioned double bedroom overlooking our garden on the first floor.

Currently do not have Tom's beloved beagle, Rupert, living with us. However, we would hope that our lodger is comfortable being around dogs as Rupert is an occasional visitor from Tom's parents' home in the South West.

About You

While we do not have a specific 'type' in mind placing this ad, we would ask that you highlight in your response why you are interested in our listing/home based on the information provided. If you feel you need more information, please let us know and we would be happy to help.

About Our Home

Our home is a semi-detached period property located in the Telegraph Hill conservation area on Waller Road. We fell in love with the home's period features, generously proportioned rooms, dual aspect, mature garden (which remains a passion project/work in progress!) and accessibility to an abundance of local amenities and transport links. detailed below.

About Our Area

The Times named Telegraph Hill as among the Top 10 places to live in London for 2025, (re-)christening the area an 'urban hamlet'. The area enjoys 2 wonderful parks (one being dog-friendly), a lively community centre, a buzzing café and events space (Hill Station Café) and top-notch pizza from the good folks at Bar D4100.

The community centre itself offers a packed schedule of yoga and Pilates, gardening courses, a darning club, along with adult outreach and support groups.

En route to Nunhead mainline station are Skehans, an independent Irish pub and a favourite of ours, and the Nunhead Gardener. Nearby Peckham offers £5.99(!) movie tickets at the Peckhamplex, a whole host of global cuisines and many buzzing bars, including a rather fab rooftop bar at the Bussey Building.

About Local Transport

We are lucky to be very well-connected. Queen's Road Peckham and New Cross Gate stations are served by both mainline and London Overground trains. You can reach either London Bridge or Cannon Street station morning until late 7 days a week in under 30 minutes. Heathrow is do-able in just under an hour door to door (via the Elizabeth Line from Whitechapel station). London City Airport is closer again.

There are also two bus stops under one minute's walk from our front door, at New Cross Fire Station. These are regularly served by the 36, 136, 171, 177, 436, N89, N136, N171 and P13 routes.
