Description
We are offering a good-sized double room in a spacious two storey flat in Mitcham.
The bills are all included and managed by the landlord.
The room has great natural light and features a wonderful super king size bed with internal storage, black out curtains and a large wardrobe.
You would be sharing with just one (female) tenant, and as there are two bathrooms you would have one bathroom to yourself (including a shower/bath).
We'd love to find a vegetarian for the flat if possible!
In total the flat has three bedrooms (one unoccupied), two bathrooms and a large combined kitchen, dining and living area.
The flat is a quick 10 minute walk from Tooting thameslink station, a 23 minute walk from Tooting Broadway tube (also accessible by bus) and 10 minutes walk from a large Lidl! You can walk to the lively area around Tooting Broadway in around 15 mins where there are plenty of cafes, shops and pubs (and a great library!).
If you work in St George's Hospital this is a great 20 minute commute from there.
Gyms are in walking distance and the beautiful Tooting Bec common and lido is an accessible 30 minute bus ride. Figges Marsh is a park in easy walking distance.
The flat is in a quiet residential area with very little noise from traffic or pedestrians. You can hear Thameslink trains nearby fairly regularly, but having lived in the flat myself I'd say I got used to this quite easily and it didn't feel like an issue.
The current tenant is a peaceful, tidy and very kind flatmate and has made the flat into a home with art and plenty of plants. She is a big fan of classical music and works in finance for an orchestra. She is also big on making clothes, reading, exploring London's history and culture and the odd visit to Portugal where she lived for several years. She'd love to live with a flatmate who'd enjoy a calm and tidy home, shared interests even better.
If you're interested do get in touch for more information and I can put you in touch with the current tenant who can meet with you and show you around.
Council Tax is band C but this is included in the rent.
Bonus info: My partner bought the flat as a family home in 2022 (and grew up in Tooting himself), but we ended up needing to move down to Brighton in 2023 for work reasons. As a result we are simply renting out the flat to help cover costs, not to make a profit! We aim to be responsive and responsible in making sure any maintenance issues are sorted. Living in rented accommodation ourselves we know how much of a difference it can make to have a helpful landlord! We know London well and would love to help with any questions/recommendations if you are new to the city.
