Description

Hi,
My current flatmate is relocating so I’m looking for someone to join me in a lovely 2-bed maisonette in Tooting Broadway. You’d be sharing with just me (Sophie, a museum professional and Roman historian by trade). The room is a sunny double on the back of the house and comes furnished with a double bed, chest of drawers, shelving, built-in wardrobe, and mirror (photos with the additional furniture coming soon). There is some flexibility on the move-in date, but ideally you would take the room in late September-early October.

The house itself is really spacious, with a nice lounge, dining room, kitchen, and a big bathroom. There’s also a cellar and a garden at the back. The kitchen has an oven, microwave, large fridge, and dishwasher, and there’s a freezer and washer-dryer in the cellar.

The house is in a great location. The street is quiet and tree-lined, but only a 6-minute walk to the Thameslink station (and a big Lidl) and about 10 minutes to Tooting Broadway tube – so it’s great for commuting. It’s also a short walk into the centre of town (with its Sainsbury’s, the famous markets, and some nice coffee and food spots).

We’re in council tax band A and the bills (including WIFI) currently come to about £150 per month each (this cost is based on neither of us working from home as my current flatmate is a doctor). We have a responsive private landlord and nice neighbours on either side.

A bit about me & what I’m looking for in a flat mate:

I work with collections in one of London’s museums so I travel into the city every day. I like to have a quiet place to unwind after work, but I’m also up for a glass of wine, kitchen chat, or cinema trip. On the weekends, I enjoy visiting exhibitions, exploring with my camera, catching up with friends, practicing my Italian (it’s slowly getting better…), and watching the occasional football match.

I’m looking for someone who wants a relaxed and friendly home. I like to keep the place very tidy and would like to find someone who feels the same. It’s also important to me that we would respect each other’s sleep schedule (I get up at 7 on weekdays but I’m quiet if you can manage a longer lie in!). I’d have a preference for someone who doesn’t work from home too much (to help keep the bills at their current level), and the landlord has requested a professional tenant.

If it sounds like this would be a good fit for you, then get in touch! Tell me a little bit about yourself and what you’re looking for in a flat mate. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can, and I’ll be doing viewings in the next week or so.
