Description

The room

The room is a small double room which comes with a brand-new bed (small double) and mattress, and a chest of drawers. It’s just been freshly painted. Depending on what you already have, the landlord is happy to buy additional furniture like a clothes rail or a wardrobe, and bedside table. The room is 175 x 430 cm, with 220 cm between bed and the wall.

The flat

The flat is a super spacious garden flat with a massive lounge, a kitchen with dining corner, cooking range with 5 hobs and double oven. Between the kitchen and lounge, there is an additional open plan room with a kitchen island. There is lots of storage in the flat with cupboards in the hallway, lounge, kitchen and kitchen island. The bathroom has a roll-top bath and a separate shower cubicle. We have a large patio over two levels with a table, benches, and even a swing bench. We have been sorting out the borders and looking forward to planting some Spring bulbs soon.

We’re a 10 minute walk from Tooting Bec (Northern Line), and close to the High Street which is served by lots of bus routes. Balham National Rail Station is a 20 minute walk away, with trains regularly running to Clapham Junction, and into central London.

Tooting is great for affordable food options, especially if you like South Asian food. We are both vegan/vegetarian and are excited about all the options on the high street and in the covered market. Favourite local places so far: Mangé des Îles (Mauritian restaurant in Tooting Market) and Backstory bookshop in Balham.

About us

Jules (35, British) is an art teacher working in a SEN school, who loves crafts and sparkly clothes.
Karin (49, Dutch) works in translation and currently works from home full-time. Bit of a cat/book/plant lady.
Karin has two cats, Samson and Luna, who love sleeping and being fussed over.

We both moved into the flat recently; we’ve been organising the flat and making it our own, and would love for you to do the same and add your decor into the mix!

During the week, we’re both pretty busy with work and volunteering (which is how we met) and we value our quiet time, but do also love a catch-up over a glass of wine. We’re hoping to find someone who is friendly, easy-going & tidy, respectful, and who's happy to do their fair share of house jobs like cleaning. And must love cats of course.

The flat is LGBTQ+ friendly.
