I’m looking for a new housemate to take over the tenancy with me for the last year of our contract as my current housemate is moving out to go travelling! We’ve been in our current place for the last 2 years and have loved it here, and having a 2 bed house with a big garden is so rare to find in London!
I'm 28 and work for a finance startup in central, usually going into the office 2-3 times a week. I enjoy trying new restaurants, travelling, going for drinks, keeping fit and going out with friends - I’m quite busy during the week and weekend and like having an active social life!
I'm looking for a friendly sociable flatmate who is tidy and respectful of the shared space and happy to keep things clean. We have a cleaning rota at the moment for the bins, and downstairs/upstairs. I’d love to find someone who would be a friend as well and where we can go for drinks/food etc every now and then too!
We’re located on a quiet residential road in Tooting Bec, just a 10-minute walk from the Tube station. And we have a Lidl and Tesco express just at the end of our road. We’re also only a 10 min walk from the high street shops and the markets in Tooting which are home to some really nice restaurants and bars. We have a nice big garden with a deck that catches sun for most of the day in the summer (I’ve got a sun lounger and little pool which was so nice this summer!) – and over the last 2 years we’ve hosted BBQ parties too which have been fun!
About the room:
It comes with the bed and wardrobe pictured, the shelving above the bed is built in but everyone else is my flatmates so she’d be taking with her. It’s a good size double room overlooking the garden with enough space to add in your own desk and chest of drawers if needed.
The room is available from 2nd February 2026, and rent is £1025 per month (I have the slightly larger room and pay a bit more).Deposit is £1211.50 and bills come to just under £140 per month, covering utilities and broadband, and Council Tax (Band D) and also household items. We use a Splitwise account to easily manage shared costs for the house (e. g., cleaning products, toilet paper etc)
The house has good storage, (your room has access to the loft if you want to use that) and we also have a big cupboard under the stairs where we keep suitcases/drying racks etc.
We rent through an estate agent but deal directly with the landlady who is super responsive and nice - she replaced windows in the house earlier this year because of draughts.
