Hello!
We’ve got a well-lit spacious room available in a friendly house in Tufnell park, available from Monday 24th October. The room comes with a single bed and mattress, a large desk, and plenty of storage space, including two wardrobes plus under-bed drawers.
The house
The house is in beautifully decorated and in great condition as the landlords were living here until we moved in in September, and comes with a lot of nice artwork. It includes a living room, separate kitchen and garden. The kitchen is well-equipped, including with a dishwasher(!), large fridge and freezer, new microwave, kettle, toaster and coffee maker. It also comes with a huge amount of storage space, so you’ll have plenty of space for your ingredients. Both bathrooms are in good condition and have excellent water pressure and reliable hot water.
The cost of the room is £1100, plus bills at around £40-£50 per month. We are council tax band F. For December you would pay a discounted rate yourself (£187.50) since the rest of us are students, and from January you would split the full rate 50:50 with the new tenant who is not a student (£125 each).
One of us is only staying until the Christmas period, and will be replaced by the partner of one of the current tenants in January. (This means we will have a spare room for guests from January onwards!) Your rent would remain at £1100 before and after the changeover.
The flat mates
You will be sharing with 4 other people: Will (26/M), David (26/M), Cris (28/M), plus Lucy (27/F) until Christmas, then Tabby (29/F) from January. Most of us are PhD students, and Tabby is working for an NGO.
We’re a relaxed but sociable household, so we are looking for someone who would like a home as well as a house! We like hanging out in the kitchen and listening to music, plus the occasional pub or movie night, and enjoy hosting dinner parties.
The area
The flat is located just 5 minutes away from Tufnell Park station, providing a great connection to central London (including the night tube on Friday and Saturday). It’s near lots of cute cafes and pubs, and within walking distance of Hampstead Heath, where you can go walking, and if you’re up for it join some of us to go the bathing ponds!
You would be joining our current contract, which runs until 1st September 2026, with a possibility to extend if the landlord chooses to do so. The landlord is OK with tenants swapping out before the end of the contract, as long as you find a suitable tenant without leaving any gaps in the rent.
