Description
My name is Ali and I’m looking for someone friendly, fun and easygoing to share my beautiful Herne Hill flat with.
About me: I'm a 30 year old civil engineer from Australia and have lived in London for about four years now. I have a pretty busy, active life - either out seeing friends, exercising, learning German or exploring fun London things - so when I am at home it's really important to me that I have a chilled, cosy space that I feel I can truly recharge in. I try to look after the space well and generally like to keep a clean and tidy environment, but life sometimes gets the better of me and that's ok too 😬 I also care about the environment so try my best not to be too wasteful/over-consume.
The flat:
It’s big, bright, airy and filled with natural light. The garden is my favourite part of the flat – in summer I spend a lot of time out there basking on the lounge in the sun.
The room:
The available bedroom is a double room and has a lovely big window, beautiful high ceilings and a double wardrobe, with space for a small desk if you need it.
The area:
The flat is about a 5-minute walk from Brockwell Park, and honestly sometimes I feel like I spend more time there than at home! Herne Hill is about a ten min walk away and is delightful – I’m a regular at the Sunday market, and I love a cold dip or a gym session followed by a coffee at Brockwell Lido.
Transport:
Tulse Hill station is the closest and gets you to Blackfriars, Farringdon and King’s Cross very easily. It’s also a quick bus (15 mins) or Lime bike (8mins) to Brixton tube. The bus stop is literally right outside the flat!
About you:
Ideally you’re friendly, considerate and have your own life going on with a good social network like me, but also enjoy the occasional chat/coffee/hang with your flatmate. You value having a calm, comfortable home environment and are respectful of shared spaces. It would be great to live with someone who treats the flat like a home rather than just somewhere to crash. I'm looking for someone who works from home no more than two days a week.
If you enjoy things like getting outside, interesting conversations, exploring local neighbourhoods, good coffee and adventurous weekend activities, we’ll probably get along well.
Move in: 1st May 2026
Rent: £1050 per month
Bills: circa £220 per month
If this sounds like a good fit, it would be great to hear a little bit about yourself, your life and how you like to spend your free time. Please do get in touch 😊
