Description

Lovely double room available in a truly fantastic two-bedroom apartment in Tulse Hill/West Norwood. Three train stations within about 10 minutes walk and regular buses to Brixton and central London. My photos don’t do it justice, this needs to be seen!

It’s the top floor flat of a house on a lovely, quiet wide avenue road. There’s a huge, airy. open-plan lounge/kitchen area, with skylight windows and wooden floors, featuring a corner couch, dining table for eight and breakfast table bar. All mod cons. There's also a separate utilities room with a modern washer/dryer and freezer - it also has a washing line and is 'hot' (due to water tank), which means it's a convenient place to hang laundry. The flat is extremely light and bright, so lovely in the summer, but also cosy and warm in the winter.

There’s a roof terrace overlooking a massive garden, not overlooked - it feels like being in the countryside - featuring a table and four chairs (perfect for summer evenings).

The double room is a decent size and features a bed, mattress, two bedside tables, a wardrobe. It's at the back of the flat so super quiet, with a big window looking out over the garden.

The neighbours are quiet and self-contained, but friendly.

Bills total about £120-£160 each per month.

Transport links:

Within 10-15 minutes walk of the flat are three stations:

West Norwood. For Clapham Junction (13 mins), Balham for Northern Line (6 minutes), Victoria (21 mins).

Tulse Hill. For London Bridge (22 mins), London Blackfriars (17 mins), Farringdon (22 mins), St Pancras (26 mins), Elephant & Castle for Bakerloo Line (11 mins)

West Dulwich. For Victoria (13 mins), Brixton (6 mins)

Regular buses from the end of the road to Brixton, Elephant & Castle, Clapham Common, Vauxhall, plus central (Marble Arch etc) and more. It’s in Zone 3.

Local area:

West Norwood has loads of shops, including four supermarkets (Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Co-op and Iceland - plus a bigger Co-op opposite Tulse Hill station), a big B&Q, a four screen Picturehouse cinema and library combined with a great cafe, and a really great local authority gym with a 25m swimming pool (both cinema/library and gym are about ten minutes walk from the flat). Plus a few genuinely nice pubs, for when life is back to normal (The Station at Tulse Hill for the garden, Tulse Hill Hotel for the food, Knowles of Norwood for the craft beer and coolness). It's also a short walk to Brockwell Park and the lido. There is a food market in the street the first Sunday of every month, and a lovely sense of community.

Your flatmate:

You’ll be living with me, Helen. I'm in my early forties and work as a freelance book editor, and creative writing teacher.

I'm friendly, sociable and laid-back, and like cooking (it's a great flat for entertaining - massive dining table in open-plan kitchen/lounge), chatting, watching films, etc. I want whoever moves in to feel at home.

I’m currently the tenant, looking to find a new flatmate because my current flatmate has just bought a place of her own.

Any questions, drop me a line.

Thanks, Helen
