Hi everyone, we have a spare room coming up in our lovely four bed ground floor flat between Vauxhall and Kennington!
The Bedroom
It’s a lovely, spacious double bedroom filled with light all day. It is furnished with a double bed, chest of drawers, wardrobe, desk and desk chair with hard wood floors and a big window with blackout blind.
The Flat
The flat is ground floor of an ex council building. The front door is secure and the area very quiet and friendly. We have a kitchen with a dining table, two small sofas and a shared TV with a Fire Stick. There are two bathrooms, each with its own shower, toilet and sink - so each generally used by two people.
The Area
The Vauxhall/Kennington area is very leafy, residential and family filled despite being so close to the city. We’re a 5 mins walk to Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens, 5 mins walk to the riverside and a 10-15 mins walk to Kennington Park. We are a sub 10 mins walk to Vauxhall, 10 mins walk to Kennington, 15 mins walk to Lambeth North, 15 mins walk to Oval, 20 mins walk to Westminster and just over 20 mins walk to Waterloo and Elephant & Castle - so incredibly well connected! Plenty of buses nearby too. We’re a 5 minute walk to a big Tesco, and surrounded by lovely pubs galore. There are lots of gyms nearby too. Vauxhall is busy and has good nightlife at the weekend but it still stays quiet around the house - best of both worlds!
Us
We are a journalist, civil servant & MA student (starting work in September) looking for a relaxed new room mate. We’re three girls but open to anyone of any gender taking the room, and we’re also LGBTQ+ friendly. We all spend a decent amount of time around the house, cooking, chatting, watching TV, and we occasionally go to the local pub quiz together on a Sunday (we actually won once!!). We all work from home occasionally but have never found each other disturbing through the walls!
Requirements
Once we’ve put you in touch with the landlord he will ask for references (previous landlord, proof of employment etc). (NB: he is friendly and always prompt to reply/fix issues). Big disclaimer: it’s a joint liability contract so you will need a guarantor.
