Description
Looking for a new housemate to take over my lovely double bedroom. It's quiet and spacious, with original hardwood floors, a built-in cupboard with storage above, and a big window overlooking Victoria Park Rd. The only sound you hear in this room is the chatter of the run club that jogs past every Saturday morning at 9.30am (maybe you're in that club? Convenient for you if so!) Victoria Park literally starts at the end of our block, and we're friends with our neighbours. I've been here for four years, which is testament to what a great place it is.
The room is part of a 3-bed household (2-storey maisonette) in a Brutalist building that's listed in Brutalist Buildings of London walking tours. It's got a big kitchen, gas stove, bath, and a balcony. No living room but it does have a small all-purpose room that we share.
The house couldn't be more ideally located: between Broadway Market and Victoria Park, it's 10 mins walk to Cambridge Heath, 13 mins to Bethnal Green Tube, 20 mins to Hackney Central and 5 mins from a major bus stop on Mare St with buses to Whitechapel, Clapton, Old St, Oxford Circus, etc.
You'd be living with Ellie (25 y. o. textile artist and design teacher) and Dave (28 y. o. in the press team at DEFRA), both friendly, warm and easy-going. They welcome LGBTQI+ identified folks and Dave specifically said it's a plus if you come with plants!
They're looking for a friendly, responsible and tidy future roommate. There's just over six months left on the lease with the option to renew at the end of April (it's a long-term rental property). Bills come to about £100-120/month including council tax (£56 each). The room is available from October 13th 2024.
