Description
A little about us :
I’m Suzanne, originally from London and only moved East last year after living in Islington for what seems like a very long time. So far loving it and wonder why it’s taken me so long to migrate this way. Living next to the park is a real game changer, I would say it’s one of the nicest parks in the city. For work, I am a photographic retoucher (promise I don’t spend all my time making women look skinny!) and I also run a small business designing greeting cards and prints. I have a studio space in Stoke Newington and also work from home often. I do markets at the weekend sometimes and am pretty busy with work stuff, but when not working I like finding good brunch places, anything and everything creative, photography, etc.
Shaheen has been living in London for over two years now and is just about getting used to our weird weather. She loves reading a good book, getting involved in bit of activism, and going to events be it music gigs, comedy shows, and anything creative and fun . She’s a foodie who really appreciates good food (and wine), and she’s always up for exploring new spots and she cannot go a day without her Masala Chai - which always makes the kitchen smell amazing! She also enjoys the company of neighborhood cats that come visit both in the front yard as well as the garden in the back.
Amelia is leaving us for the far-off fields of Walthamstow. She was our resident garden carer and spider catcher. Shaheen once spent an hour trapped in her room with a giant one lurking outside, and I was no help at all until Amelia finally came home and saved us both! So, if you can step into those great shoes and kindly escort the little creeps outside, you’re already halfway in! A garden lover is also a huge plus, as we’re slightly scared to venture out where all the spiders get relocated.
About the House :
It’s a three bedroom house right next to Victoria Park (you can see the park from the front door, it’s that close). There is a main bathroom with a bath, a separate shower room and an en-suite downstairs. There is also a laundry room which is pretty unique in London! The kitchen has a dishwasher which makes life so much easier and is open plan with the living room. All pretty spacious.
There isn’t a tube station close by but It’s an easy walk to London fields or Homerton, both can get you everywhere. And buses - they exist here too.
The room is unfurnished but Facebook marketplace is pretty good for secondhand stuff so shouldn’t be a massive problem.
Enough space for a desk and shelving, and has a built in wardrobe.
It’s £671 a month and bills come to about £120 a month. The rent has just gone up so shouldn’t be going up again soon.
Who we are looking for :
We are looking for another girl to replace Amelia, somewhere around our ages so 27-43, house trained, people friendly and easy going. Spider catching a massive bonus. If you like growing veggies and herbs in the garden it’s all set up and ready for you.
As 95% of other ads on here say - we aren’t a party house, this is a home and we like to keep things pretty chilled, clean and comfortable. We all have our own lives but also like to occasionally do brunch, park walks, picnics or watch something together.
We are easy going and respectful and so far the dynamic has worked well. Hoping to avoid anyone high maintenance and any passive aggressive note writers - happy notes are welcome and funny notes are encouraged. Shared living can be easy so if you easily get put out by things or can’t compromise, this may not be a good fit.
We can’t take pets sadly, only humans (Love a dog or a cat or a budgie so this is sad).
Please send us a little info about yourself - replies with no info tend to get lost as the response is always huge. Looking forward to hearing from you!
