I have a room available from 01 January - 30 June 2025.
Bills are additional and approximately £100 in winter months.
About the flat:
The flat is on the top floor, the 4th floor. The flat is park facing to Well Street Commons Park. All rooms have a view of the park and is brightly lit. There is a small balcony with a table, bench and 2 chairs. Perfect for morning sunrise or evening sunset.
About the room:
The bedroom itself is brightly lit. Lots of natural light. The bedroom is the largest amongst the 2 bedrooms. Includes a large double closet with mirror on outside of closet.
About the building:
Council estate. Built in 1940s. The building requires a fob key to be let into the stairwell and access to the rest of the of council estate. It feels safe.
There is no parking. There are bike lockers though you may need to get on a waiting list. Open to having your bike stowed in the flat in the meantime.
Minimal traffic being park facing on a one way road.
About the area:
It is a 5-7 minute walk to Homerton overground station. It's about the same distance to Well Street Road where there are all your amenities - Post office, tesco, cafe, dry cleaners, restaurants, pubs, etc.
Victoria Park is 30 seconds away, down the street. The park gates are beside Peoples Park Tavern. There is also a Santander bike station down the street.
About me:
I'm Austin 31. Professionally I work a corporate job in brand marketing at Church & Dwight, managing their Batiste dry shampoo brand. I take my career serious and have my head down mostly through Monday to Friday. I work hybrid and find myself in the office Tuesday-Thursday, working from the flat Monday and Friday.
When it hits the weekend, I fill my diary with social plans Friday and Saturday. I'm not often inviting friends over. It's normally hanging out the pub, going to a gig, going to an exhibition. I like to keep it quiet at the flat and not bring a party back to the flat, respecting the neighbours. I'll host a flat party 1-2 times a year at most. I can be social/extroverted but I also really like my own time which I find Sunday is that time and a few nights of the week settling in my room reading, listening to music, etc.
In the last decade I've lived with more women than men and keep the flat clean! I have no issues living with a girl or a guy.
What I am looking for in a flatmate:
Similar interests, serious about their career, social and likes to have fun. Overall cleanliness, I'm not a stickler on keeping the flat clean but try to be in the habit of cleaning when things seem untidy without even asking.
I'm fine with having friends over every now and then, however this is not a party flat. The building as a whole is very calm and respectful. It's not a deciding factor but I would prefer a non smoker - vaping is fine!
