Description
Hello! I’m looking for someone to step into boat life and rent my boat for 1-2 months while I take a short break
Who this is perfect for:
1. Love nature, being on the water and closer to wildlife
2. Want to experience what it is like to be off grid
3. Have been intrigued about what it is like living on a boat
4. Looking to be more connected with what it takes to run a household
5. Love using a log burner and learning how to maximise the heat (there is also central heating on the boat FYI)
6. Like the idea of closing the loop and using a compost toilet that then is collected by a company and used to nourish the soil
7. Want to be introduced to living off batteries and learning about how much power you need to use to run your usual activities
8. Want to live on your own
Who this is not for:
1. Looking for complete convenience
2. Want an unlimited supply of everything
3. Not interested in learning about resource management
4. Don’t like managing little jobs to keep the household going
As you may have picked up from above there are nuances to living on a boat that would be a nuisance to some people but are a really beautiful learning to those who want to be more connected with the natural world and an off-grid life. The boat is very comfortable as you can see from the pictures. Boats can be very cold because they are on the water but there is no need to be cold on mine as it has central heating throughout and has a log burner which pumps out so much warmth.
The boat has a large kitchen diner with sink, oven, grill, washing machine, hob, fridge, sofa, TV, coffee table, desk and is fully set up with pots, pans, cutlery etc. The bathroom has a shower, separator compost toilet and sink. Then there is a good sized bedroom with a double bed, approx 10m2 with plenty of storage.
You do NOT need to move the boat, it will stay where it is moored.
If you are looking to start the year in an interesting way then this is certainly it.
The location is amazing, with Victoria Park, Mabley Green, Hackney Wick, and Leyton all a short walk or cycle. If you’re the right size, I’m happy to lend you my bike, provided you take care of it.
Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
