Description
Hi! I'm looking for a friendly new housemate to move into a bright, cozy two-bedroom flat in Walthamstow. You'd be sharing the place with just me, so it's ideal if you're after a calm, homely setup rather than a busy house share.
The flat
I'm going to be honest that it's not a huge place, but it's very bright, all newly painted and refurbished. It's on a quiet residential street, and the room faces the back so it's peaceful :)
The landlady is private (no agents), very communicative, and genuinely cares about the flat, as she used to live here herself. I'm on a mission to find someone who can help look after the place with me and treat it as a proper home.
Location
- St James Street station (Weaver line, 15 mins to Liverpool Street) – ~10 min walk
- High street with Lidl + big Sainsbury's – ~10 min walk
- Walthamstow Central – ~20 min walk
- Nearest bus stop – ~4 min walk
The room
- Comes with a wardrobe and bedside table
- Bed not included, but there might be a double mattress available
- There's a big loft (above the hallway) for storage
About me
I'm a 27-year-old Japanese woman on a YMS visa, valid for another year. I'm leaving my office job at the end of the year and planning to spend the next year freelancing in translation and preparing for grad school. I like books, films, music, crocheting, thrifting, and going on walks with my film camera.
Who I'm looking for
Someone friendly, tidy, and responsible (the usuals!). I'm not too fussy, but since it'll just be the two of us, it would be lovely to live with someone who's open, considerate, and up for a relaxed, respectful household. I'd be up for a chat in the kitchen anytime, or going out together sometimes, while I also value having our own space and doing our own thing.
Admin bits
- Rent: £850 pcm (paid directly to the landlady)
- Deposit: £750
- Council tax (Waltham Forest, Band B) and bills to be split between us
- The contract will remain under my name and my previous housemate's until the break clause. We were looking to move places together but he can no longer make it due to family circumstances. The landlady is aware of the situation and she trusts me in finding a new housemate.
Viewings
I can host viewings:
This Sunday (14th)
Weekdays after 6:30pm (except the 17th)
Next weekend (20th & 21st)
If this sounds like a good fit, please send a message with a bit about yourself and your move-in timing. Looking forward to hearing from you 🌱
