Description
Looking for a grown up, professional, quiet but friendly home; a place to enjoy and relax in? Perhaps this one's for you...
The house has three bedrooms and the room on offer is quite a large fully furnished double and comes with a large (more often than not) private shower room - though it will be shared very occasionally with one other person.
There is a communal sitting room; dining/sitting room as well as a small garden and roof terrace. The third bedroom is used intermittently and when used as a spare room comes in handy when friends or family come to visit.
Located on a tree lined residential road in the LB of Waltham Forest; close to shops and local amenities the house is a two minute stroll to Wanstead Flats. Wanstead Park (a 140 acre grade II listed woodland with grand Georgian lakes, follies and woods) is a short walk and not to be missed.
The area is thriving, with a local gym, local running and yoga clubs, pubs, bars, cafes and eateries, and a choice of corner shops near to the house for anything you need!
Less than a 10 minute walk to either Forest Gate (Elizabeth Line) or Wanstead Park (London Overground) Stations
In addition to the rent of £1,000 per month, bills are roughly £150 per month.
Gas and electricity - allow £100 per month as an average guide
Council Tax contribution - £25 per month
Thames Water contribution - £10 per month
Cleaner - £15 per month
So that would be a total monthly outlay of roughly £1,150
An up and coming part of the East End with lots of little hidden gems - if you're interested and you like the sound of this please do get in touch, I'd love to hear from you.
Happy hunting 😊
Diana

Hi, I’m Shradha, and I’ll soon be moving in with my partner, which means leaving behind Darwin Cottage - a place that’s truly felt like home. It’s been more than just a place to live; it’s been a warm, safe haven where I’ve built wonderful memories.
About the House & Diana:
Diana, our landlady has created a welcoming, comfortable home in a beautiful Victorian house that combines classic charm with modern comforts. The atmosphere is peaceful and cozy, always clean and thoughtfully maintained. Diana has been the most caring landlord anyone could ask for- attentive and quick to address any concerns, while also being incredibly kind and strong. She genuinely cares about the wellbeing of her lodgers, and I’ll miss her presence greatly.
Your Room- The Bay Room:
I’ve been staying in the ‘Bay Room’ on the ground floor,
which is a gorgeous, spacious room complete with a fireplace and a detached bathroom. It’s a lovely spot that gives you easy access to the communal areas and offers a quiet, homely vibe. The pictures will show you just how beautiful this space is - I’m genuinely going to miss it!
About Your Future Housemate, Lottie:
Lottie is a fantastic housemate - friendly, considerate, and easygoing. We’ve always made it a priority to keep the house looking lovely, with fresh flowers and pleasant fragrances, and we treat the space as our own home. We’re mindful of communal areas, ensuring dishes and shared spaces are always tidy and ready for each other. We also communicate openly, especially about plans that might impact the other, like being out late or going away for a few days, which has helped us build a trusting and comfortable environment.
A Bit About the Ideal Lodger
We’re looking for someone who values a clean, peaceful home and is happy to contribute to the welcoming atmosphere we’ve cultivated here. If you appreciate a space that feels more like home than just a rental, and you’d enjoy living with an amazing landlady and a caring housemate, then Darwin Cottage might be just the place for you!
