Large Double with Huge En-Suite

Hi I’m Lily and I’ll sadly be leaving Darwin Cottage as I am moving in with my partner. When I first viewed this house, I fell in love with its quaintness and calm aura. Diana, the Landlord, has put together a space that really feels like your home - which is quite a rarity on the London rental market nowadays!!

I’ve been based in the top room, which comes with a gorgeous en suite (the bath is amazing!!) The room is quiet, and you have your own space and privacy if and when needed. Lots of storage space both for clothes and other things! It’s easy to keep the room in order due to its design.

My favourite places in the house would be the terrace in summer (sun trap!), and the conservatory with my breakfast! Especially if raining, so peaceful.

I’ve been sharing the house with Shradha, and it’s been such a perfect pairing! Shradha is hugely emotionally aware, more introvert than me (balanced each other) and such a kind, relaxing and joyful person to be around. She is an incredible cook (if you’re lucky, you’ll get to try some of her Indian dishes!) It’s important to us both that we respect the communal spaces, always tidying up after ourselves, and sharing out house duties between us. Shradha is reliable, intelligent and fun. If both in on evenings, we’ll enjoy some tv together and catch up. There was no pressure to become friends, but this did happen organically over time. Both in our 30s, this isn’t a party house and the right person will want this space to chill out, outside of their day. Saying that, it’s a place to enjoy your glass of wine, your cuppa, and welcome over your guests!

The area is thriving, with a local gym, local running club, pubs, bars, cafes and eateries, and a corner shop near to the house for anything you need! I will miss the area so much. (Shradha more though…she’s the best! ❤)

I am Shradha, Lil's soon to be ex-housemate 💔. As evident in her ad, we are individual ambitious women.

I have worked for years in the field of communications before I recently took a career break to pursue a year long Master's course.

I enjoy exploring though at my own pace. I love my peace and calm, and Darwin Cottage is bliss for people like me. 😂
I respect everyone's space and expect the same. Doesn't mean I am grumpy. I love to chat and connect but I am not loud or nosy either.

Cleanliness and hygiene has always been important and living with Lily has set new benchmarks altogether 😂. She is so good with organising and keeping the house impeccably pretty with fresh flowers and fragrances. We try to manage it as if it is our own home.

We clear the communal areas and dishes immediately after we use and make sure to leave it good for the other. We communicate almost daily especially if anyone is going out of town or coming home late. Basically, we have prioritised each other's comfort, safety and never took the other or the house for granted.

One of the most integral part of being at Darwin's is our landlady Diana! She is intelligent, strong, aware and loving. You will know what I mean once you meet her.

While I will miss having Lily around and miss our deep conversations, her hugs, her smile, energy and our sisterhood, I am also happily looking forward to a new bond and friendship.

And me...

A really lovely double room in a three bedroom Victorian house. The room on offer comes fully furnished and the en-suite has a large bath with recessed overhead shower. Looking for an equally lovely person to move in and enjoy it.

Shared sitting room; fitted kitchen; dining room; patio garden and roof terrace.

Less than a 10 minute walk to either Forest Gate (Elizabeth Line) or Wanstead Park (London Overground) Stations; and less than a 2 minute walk to Wanstead Flats.
