Description
I have a room available in December and January for someone interested in a short term stay. I'm heading away to visit family on the other side of the world for that period hence the availability.
The facts:
- 5-7 minutes walk from Shadwell (Overground/DLR) and Wapping (Overground)
- 25 min walk to Tower of London/City of London along nice canal paths
- 30-35 minutes walk to Canary Wharf (or just take DLR)
- multiple large supermarkets within 15-30 minutes walk (Waitrose, Sainsburys, Lidl, Iceland)
- in Wapping, a delightful and peaceful slice of London with alot of history
- available from 1st December until end of January 2025
- minimum 1 month, maximum 2. I'm open to one month stays, but the price would be probably be £100 or thereabouts more depending on when the month is desired and interest in the room.
- Rent: £1075, including bills. Current cost incl bills for me is over this (and will probably go even higher with winter power costs), so it is subsidised at £1075 to reflect the shorter stay period.
A bit more the flat and what we/I are looking for:
There's me (Morgan) who you will liaise with. There are three others in the flat - a mix of nationalities (French, Uruguayan, British) working in marketing, finance and product, some people working more in the office, some working more from home.
We both live our lives quite independently, meaning there are times we are both home and catch up in the kitchen or living room, there are also other times where we are busy, out a lot or travelling, so then it can happen we don't see each other for a few days or weeks. So they will be looking for a likeminded person who is clean and considerate in the shared areas as well as respectful. This isn't a party flat, we respect each others right to peace and quiet (e. g. use headphones in early/late hours) as well as our neighbours.
A bit more about the room and the house:
The room is the largest bedroom in the house and includes double bed, cupboard and of course the ensuite which is exclusive to you. It is on the top floor of the apartment and gets good light if you want it via the skylight.
Worth noting there is room for a desk, but there is no desk in the room. I work close to full time in the office so I've not had a need for one. I do have a lapdesk I'm happy to lend.
There is a living room as can be seen in the pictures. It's not really suitable for working from home and the other flatmates ideally don't want it used for that purpose though the occasional bit of laptop work outside of calls might be OK with them.
The kitchen has the usual stuff (fridge/freezer, washing machine, oven, toaster, kettle) but also includes a dishwasher.
The apartment is a flat built in the 80s that looks out over Shadwell Basin. The apartments are behind a secure gate as well as security to the block itself.
Would suit a friendly, professional, non-smoking, clean and considerate person, but open to all interested.
