Description
My lovely flatmate of 10 years is moving out early next year and I m looking for a replacement (I know it's early - but finding the right person may take time).
*🛏 The Room & House*
Spacious, bright double room with loads of storage.
Sole use of the main bathroom (other bedroom is ensuite).
Large, light-filled living room and a well-equipped kitchen.
Balcony for morning coffee or evening drinks.
Council Tax band E.
Bills around £200 a month including council tax.
*📍 Location – Wapping*
Wapping is between the City and Canary Wharf with quick commutes to offices in both places.
It feels like a secret pocket of London: cobbled streets, converted warehouses, the Thames Path on your doorstep, and historic riverview pubs.
It’s peaceful, safe, and full of canals and waterside walks - yet only 15–20 minutes’ away from Brick Lane, Shad Thames, and Bermonsdey Street for all the bars and restaurants you could want.
It’s also the first place I’ve lived in London where I’ve felt truly integrated into the community. There are neighbourhood group chats for just about everything, a local Saturday market and a warm, village-like feel you don’t expect right in the city.
For day-to-day convenience: there’s a big Waitrose next door, a great pharmacy, an excellent local GP and St Katharine Docks with a lot of bars and restaurants just minutes away. There are local tennis courts, running clubs, numerous gyms and other sports facilities.
🚇 12 mins walk to Tower Hill (District/Circle) & Tower Gateway (DLR),
🚇 13 mins walk to Wapping (Windrush- Overground)
🚇 1 min walk to Bus 100 - St Paul via Liverpool Street & Shadwell
I’ve lived in London for over 10 years and have built up a big network of friends and social circles. I work in Mayfair and spend 4 days a week in the office, so I’m often out during the day and many evenings — at theatre (especially immersive shows), talks, tennis, workshops, various events, or catching up with friends.
Friends occasionally swing by to say hello, and I like the home to feel welcoming, but it’s not a constant stream of people. Even though I enjoy partying, I don’t bring the party home. I occasionally host games nights, dinners, and themed events. The vibe here is sociable without being hectic, tidy without being precious.
I’m looking for someone open-minded and non-judgmental, who’s happy to give each other space but is also up for a laugh when we cross paths. Ideally, we’d share a couple of interests, but the main thing is good vibes, mutual respect, and the ability to enjoy both company and quiet.
