Description
Hello, I’m looking for someone to take over my tenancy in the most wonderful home after many happy years here.
The housemates:
I’m starting here as they’re the best thing about this house. We’ve all got busy work and social lives outside the house but all love reading, cooking, watching naff telly together (Below Deck fans will fit right in) and house trips to the cinema down the road.
Hope: 33 works as a Faculty Tutor. She loves pottery and Pilates and chocolate Cadbury yoghurt pots.
Chloe: 31 works in PR. She’s will feed you pasta and it will be delicious.
Our third housemate is also moving out in the coming weeks so there'll be another newbie in the house.
The House:
The house is HUGE. It’s split over 4 stories and has a proper garden and two bathrooms. There’s loads of communal living space over two floors plus a basement bigger than most London rentals which is great for storage and drying washing in the winter.
This is very much our home, and we all clean up after ourselves and have a cleaning rota. We’ll have friends over for a coffee / dinner /wine in the garden etc but it’s really not a party house.
The Room(s):
The bedroom is super spacious and bright. A huge wardrobe comes with the room and happy to discuss leaving the bed and drawers if you need them.
You also will share a little office room with Hope. She’s in the office 2 days a week and WFH 3 days a week. I love working in this room and love even more not having to work from my bedroom or the kitchen table.
The local area:
It’s a super friendly street on a quiet road just a few mins walk from West Norwood high street which includes a post office, cinema, library, board game café, all the shops and the pub! West Norwood Cemetery, Streatham Common and Norwood Park all within walking distance. You can also roll down the hill and be at Brockwell park/lido within 15 mins.
5 mins walk from West Norwood train station (direct trains to Victoria, Clapham Junction, London Bridge)
15 mins walk from Tulse Hill (for the Thameslink and direct trains to Blackfriars, St Pancras etc)
Bus station at the end of the road
The logistics:
• Rent £800 per month
• Bills currently around £190 a month (gas, electricity, water, council tax, internet)
• Deposit £1010 (note this is worked out on the whole house hence is more than 5 weeks rent)
• £50 fee to change the contract which we can split
• I have some flexibility with moving dates but ideally looking for someone to move in early Nov.
• You'll need to have a permanent employment contract to pass referencing checks with the estate agents.
The tenancy currently runs until July 2025 but there might be the possibility to extend after then too!
If you're interested in the room please message with a bit about yourself and we can arrange a viewing and for you to meet the housemates :)
