In Victorian tenement flat in friendly conservation area close to Brick Lane. Linen and bedding provided and laundering of sheets, towels.

Would suit a professional person living outside London and working in the City, near Liverpool St or at the Royal London Hospital, and wanting a convenient base Monday to Friday. All are within easy walking distance.

It is not suitable for a couple or a student or someone who works from home.

The room is a small double and has lots of storage - built in cupboards and bookshelves, a comfortable chair and a chest of drawers. The window has a black out blind and curtains. This is a Mon-Frid (4 nights) rent but you are welcome to leave some things in the room over the week-end.

The room has just been redecorated and new floor laid. There is a new bed and mattress.

Use of kitchen with microwave etc. Shared bathroom with good shower – has a pump in basement to give added water pressure.

There is a massive Sainsbury nearby as well as a Tesco Express store 3 minutes away and an award winning Asian restaurant at the end of the street. Small cafes, the Whitechapel markets and a great independent cinema, Genesis, nearby.

The flat is on the top, third floor, small but light. There is no lift. This is a conservation area and the flat is characterful and would appeal to someone who enjoys these qualities.

The room faces west onto a private road with a view into a courtyard with cherry trees.

Whitechapel underground is within 7 minutes walk - Elizabeth, District, H&C, overground - as are the numbers 25, 205 and 15 bus going east/west. DLR 10 minutes walk to Shadwell and direct to Canary Wharf or from Whitechapel, one transfer.

Bills included – gas, electricity, water and council tax, TV license, broadband. This covers reasonable use of central heating.
The flat and building are a smoke free zone.

You would be sharing with one other person. I am a friendly, professional, independent person in my early 70’s. I have a lot of experience of welcoming lodgers and would like you to feel at home. The last lodger was here for 8 years and everyone has enjoyed being here. Nearly all have worked in the City and walked to work. The bathroom would be for your exclusive use in the morning and you are welcome to use the kitchen to work or relax in the evening. I will be away some of the time also so you would have the flat to yourself on these days.
