Description
Hello, I'm Ginya, and my housemate Laura and I are looking for someone new to move into our cozy Willesden Green flat! We are biased but truly believe this space is one of the best available: new, spacious, and very well connected. Please do note that this flat is certainly more of a home than a house-- if that's not what you're looking for, please do not follow up on our ad as it's important to us that our new housemate is aligned with this approach to shared living.
The Room:
It is a medium-sized double bedroom towards the back of the flat with a big window next to the bed. It is partly furnished and comes with a double bed and a large wardrobe.
The Flat:
We live in a converted Victorian house which has been split into two flats. We're on the first-floor and have a shared bathroom with bath and shower, large living room with bay windows, wooden floors and lots of natural light, separate kitchen (anyone who's lived in London knows how rare and luxurious this is!) which includes a washing machine, and a small garden.
The Area:
The flat is on a quiet residential street, a 5-minute walk from Willesden Green station (Jubilee line Zone 2, 20 minutes into central London). We are also close to local supermarkets, coffee shops, restaurants, pharmacies, banks, a great local yoga studio, and more, and a ten-minute walk from the local park. The Cricklewood Thameslink is also about a fifteen-minute walk away.
About us:
Ginya and Laura, ages 26 and 32. Laura has lived in this flat for 7 years, and I have been here for 2 years. A room has become available as Laurel, our other housemate, who moved in when Laura first did, is moving home before going travelling for some months. I am a teacher, and Laura is a duty manager for an arts venue, often away in the evenings, so we both work in person and come and go quite a bit. I am also American, so I travel relatively often to see friends and family.
We are both clean and tidy, and often enjoy chilled evenings watching TV (house favourites include: Sex and The City, Friends, and Harry Potter) together with a takeaway. My hobbies include crafting, going to concerts and West End shows, swimming in the ponds at Hampstead Heath, roller skating, and baking. We're hoping to find someone with whom we can be friends but is also happy doing their own thing. We’re not massive party people, so ideally looking for someone similar.
Buffer Period:
One more note: for the right candidate, we can likely negotiate an earlier move-in date than the end of July. I will be away for much of the summer (teacher perks!), so my room will be available if our new tenant needs a buffer period between rentals. That said, it wouldn't be as 'formal' a sublet in the sense that most of my belongings and decorations would still be there since I'm still around.
Rent and Bills
The room is £767 a month (not including bills). We currently pay £50 a month each for bills including gas, electricity, and internet. There are also annual bills for water, council tax (band D - £744 each), and a TV license.
We're hoping to do viewings and meet with potential housemates over the coming weeks, so do please reach out sooner rather than later if you're interested! 😊
