Description
We live in a first floor flat on a residential street in Willesden/Harlesden. We are a 20 minute walk to Willesden Junction Station (zone 2), which has both the overground and the Bakerloo line, and direct connections to Paddington and Euston stations. We are also a similar distance to Harlesden and Neasden tube lines.
Our spare room has a double bed, en-suite, and overlooks the garden. You would be at the rear of the house, whereas our bedroom will be at the front of the house in the loft room, so it is quite a private space (see floorpan). However, you would be welcome to use the communal kitchen/living area. The kitchen has an oven, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, toastie maker. Council tax and bills would be included in the agreed price. We can discuss parking as an option if needed.
We are very close to Roundwood park, Willesden Sports Centre, a large Tesco store, and some nice neighbourhoods for food and drink such as Queens Park and Kensal Rise.
We have been in the flat less than a year so are still settling in and making some home improvements, so you can expect some upgrades and added comforts over the next year such as rugs and armchairs. In the room you would be using specifically, we plan to make some improvements over the next few months, depending on how quickly we secure a lodger, such as repainting, getting the carpet cleaned, changing the blinds, adding a headboard and lamp. We will of course make sure this wouldn't be disruptive to your stay. Please also note that the chests of drawers will be removed from this room.
We are currently open to different arrangements with a lodger, either Mon-Fri, or fewer days in the week, and are more interested in meeting and making sure it is the right fit. The room would be used occasionally by guests visiting at the weekends, however if you need to leave some belongings over the weekend, the fitted wardrobe and under-bed drawers will be available to you.
To say a little more about us, we are a 33 and 35 year old couple. Sarah is a designer and PhD student, and David works in film/advertising. Important to mention that we have a cat, although he can be kept out of the advertised room. Sarah's interests are all things design and making, sustainability and long distance running. David's interests are cycling, music, literature, food, travel, film and television.
