Description
The flat is very much a home, where we are lucky enough to have a large balcony that overlooks the All England Club’s Practice Courts with a large living room, kitchen and bathroom. There is also some communal storage in the hall for suitcases and linens etc.
The bedroom is a good sized bright UNFURNISHED double with a lovely view across the tennis courts (you can even see the top of Centre Court!). The room is unfurnished but there is plenty of space for all furniture (currently has a double bed, two sets of drawers, a wardrobe, a desk, an occasional chair, a bedside table and a bookshelf with room to spare!). It’s a very flexible space, that allows for various different furniture layouts.
The room is larger than it looks, it’s just hard to show that in photos, but I’ve included a floor plan of the flat to hopefully better show off the size. Additionally, there are some built in shelves on the wall.
The room is suitable for females only between 30 and 40. The landlord will not accept couples or children on the lease I’m afraid.
We have our own designated parking space, there are also some visitor parking spaces which are handy for moving in and for guests visiting. During the championship, we have rented out the car parking space which brings in some extra money for bills in the winter and a Christmas tree (very much a Christmassy household!).
The rent is £975 exc bills. Bills come in at approx £145 for gas & electric, water, council tax (Wandsworth borough - one of the lowest council taxes in London!), fibre broadband, Sky TV and Netflix. I am also looking into possibly hiring a cleaner on a fortnightly basis to do a deeper clean.
A bit about who you’d be living with... I’m Cate, I’m 35 and an Executive Assistant for a communications firm. I do sometimes work quite long hours (split between the office and home), so my evenings are pretty quiet. My weekends are filled with brunches, Columbia Road visits and spending time with family and friends.
Really hoping to find someone who is on the same wavelength who is happy to chill with a glass of wine and Netflix, brunch, a Sunday roast or a pub quiz etc. I have had house shares before where my housemate has become a friend and where we’ve just been housemates, I’m hoping for a friend on this occasion.
The room has come available as my current housemate, Pip has bought a flat. I need to find a replacement ASAP (room is available from 13 September) but can be somewhat flexible with the move in date.
The nearest tube station is Southfields, which is roughly a 10/12 minute walk or 3 minutes by bus (the bus stop is a 5 minute walk away).
There is a high street of shops with a Sainsburys Local, Tesco Metro and M&S Food. There are also some lovely independent shops, salons and florists and some great independent coffee shops (Wylie’s, Feel Good & DropShot), which all do great brunches.
Wimbledon Village is also a short walk or bus journey away, which is a really lovely high street with lots of shops, pubs and restaurants. The All England Club (AELTC) is just around the corner, with their practice courts immediately opposite (great balcony views) and as a result we have access to the community ticketing scheme (basically guaranteed tickets to the fortnight!).
Wimbledon, Putney and Wandsworth are all a short bus ride away and have mainline stations with direct fast trains into Waterloo (Wimbledon also has the Thameslink and the Croydon tram). The location is really lovely with Wimbledon Park at one end of the road and Wimbledon Common at the other.
Clapham Junction is also easily accessible by bus (approx 20-mins) for trains into Victoria, Brighton, Gatwick Airport and the Overground (Windrush and Mildmay lines).
If you like the look of my home then please send me a message with some info about yourself and we can arrange a viewing.
Please note references are required by our agent.
Thank you,
Cate
