Description
Looking for a lodger from May 11th to join my eco household: we save the shower water to flush the toilet, we minimise plastic use (I shop at Ecorefill in Toxteth), and I reduce, reuse, recycle and upcycle and I'm looking from someone who holds those principles too.
I'm the owner of the house and am doing / overseeing all the renovations.
I've rented rooms in my houses for nearly 15 years and like to foster a community environment and have house meetings to discuss the smooth running of the household in terms of people's schedules / who needs the bathroom when, updates on renovations and planning around people's calendars.
I'm a personal training, a mindful movement teacher, a massage therapist and a life coach and I teach workshops/see clients at home.
House rules:
1) no pets - I have two elderly cats, one is 16 and quite grumpy and has arthritis, one is 9 and has a little heart condition and gets startled easily.
2) no guests unless it's been arranged in advance with all housemates
3) It's a shared house in the sense that we are all sharing the space but it is my property and my home and that needs to be respected
4) keep shared spaces clean and tidy, don't leave your stuff lying around in shared spaces / on the kitchen surfaces. Tidy up as you go along so that others don't have to deal with your mess
5) if you work from home have confidential meetings in your room, I'm happy to share my living room as a co-working spaces but if you start treating it like "your" office (shutting the door, saying you need the space for yourself, having private/confidential meetings in the share space then I will ask you to work somewhere else all the time)
6) save water as much as you can, I have been conserving water for about 20 years so have some great tips to share
7) be mindful of electricity usage and leave things switched off (ie not on standby) - not just because of the waste that goes into creating electricity but also because of how greedy the energy companies are and how extortionate their prices are at the moment = the less you use the cheaper all our bills will be.
8) quiet hours are between 10pm and 9am (and if we're all working from home be mindful of music etc and either keep it mellow or pop headphones on)
9) leave the bathroom door open after you've finished so the room can air out and so that people can clearly see that it's not occupied.
10) be gentle and kind to the kitties and move slowly around the space so that you don't scare them - you're very welcome to leave your door open so they can come in and snuggle with you and make friends.
11) please air out your room regularly, especially if you keep your door closed a lot - this prevents smells and moulds from growing in the property.
I currently have a lodger staying who has an adorable little doggo called Thea, they're staying here for a few months while they finalise their travel / future plans and find a place of their own again.
I'm looking for likeminded individuals and am open to longer term lodgers (1+ years) for the right person who easily fits into an eco, zero waste, vegan, queer, animal adoring/doting and hygge lifestyle.
Your bedroom has a double mattress and two built in wardrobes with three drawers. Please ask if you have any of your own furniture that you'd like to bring. If you don't have any furniture but require a few more items than those provided please ask and we can source some more furniture together, please don't bring anything into the house without consent/permission from me.
Looking forward to meeting / chatting with you all and finding a good, friendly, down to earth, independent, stable and secure fit for the household.
Thank you!
