Description

Comfortable double room available in Bootle with good travel links into city centre. Three (mostly) adorable cats and clean non-smoking, characterful home with small planted yarden area. Council tax band A, this and all bills included.

I work hybrid with around 60/40 work from home in the back "spare" bedroom (not available for rent) in the heritage and culture sector. I can be untidy with arts and crafts, sewing projects in particular but prefer to keep the house clean. LGBT+ ally, left leaning but disappointed by Labour, proud of this city's multicultural heritage. Have lived with friends before who now live out of town. Offering short-term lets only because I'm not sure how I feel about living with strangers!

I am looking for a clean, interesting, professional who is in need of short-stay accomodation while staying in the city. I'm asking for references and a chat (in-person or virtual) before agreeing to share our space.

Fully furnished bedroom with good storage: wardrobe, chest of drawers, dressing table and under-bed.
Shared bathroom with bath and shower facilities.
Full kitchen: oven, electric hob, microwave, air fryer and an ancient George Foreman. Small fridge and freezer as I tend to cook from fresh where possible. I kindly request that additional kitchen equipment is not added as we have no additional kitchen storage! Recycling is mixed and bins are weekly on Wednesday. There is no dishwasher.
Washing machine in the kitchen with drying maidens inside and outside. I ask that if using the inside maiden please also use the dehumidifier to avoid issues with condensation.
Happy for you to use the provided bedlinens/towels if conveinient considering the shorter stay.

I recently swapped out of Sky TV and frankly don't know how to work the freeview but Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime all currenly available in the shared sitting room and if I can work out how to set it up then DropoutTV. I'm considering dropping the Disney and Amazon for their dodgy political connections but haven't done so yet. Broadband is with Virgin Media with a booster set up for the signal at the back of the house. Fast speed and very few issues since I switched.

Some storage space in the attic for larger things but access to that is through a private bedroom and so is not always available.

Three cats are indoor/outdoor with a curfew and I ask that they are not allowed out in the evenings. One is v. friendly, one is cautious but will warm up given time, and the older black cat is not friendly but will want to be in the room whenever something interesting is happening. They have bathroom facilities kept in the dining room which are changed regularly and they mostly go outside. When the friendly cat inevitably gets outside at night he does hunt and presents are usually brought directly to me. There is cat hair everywhere and honestly no way to avoid that.

The area is busy with mostly families living on the street. Neighbours are friendly but not particularly close. A German Shepherd lives next door who is sweet and well trained but can bark at times usually during the day. It is a 2 minute walk to the nearest bus stop, 10 minutes to a busier bus route and 15 minutes to Bootle New Strand Train Station with direct links to Liverpool Central Station or to Southport. It is a 15 minute walk to the Aldi and a little further to the bigger Asda. There isn't really secure storage for a bike unless it's a Brompton. I've tried in the past but access into the alley/yard is awkward and not practical for regular use.
